Yes, I agree with this. However, although Canada is liberal when it comes to drug crimes, we need to be more liberal = progressive.
Prohibition works! Just ask Al Capone...and the hundreds dead as a result.

My point is that you cannot control the drug problems of the world by making drugs illegal - it simply does not work. It is about as naive and ignorant as communism. If you want to believe it works - fine. But it doesn't and that can be shown quite easily.
More drug dealers will just take Scott's place and bring about the same problems and Scott's life is now ruined. So what was solved here exactly? Right - nothing. I love how pharmacies and liquor vendors commit the same "crimes" and get away with it. Monster consistency in government legislated morality.
I know some of you may want to hold on to the irrational belief that making drugs illegal is more practical - but it isn't. And on the topic of morals - don't get me started. The state is not in control of our bodies - we are.

ill go ahead and disagree with ya.. ive spent many years as a cop in high crime/drug areas.. and ive seen the effects that drugs have on people.. when you get hooked, kiss your life goodbye. whatever your drug of choice is will run your life forever..drugs are highly, highly addictive. lets say you decide to start smoking crack, that feeling never goes away. would you want to go to work when you have the uncontrollable urge to get high? of course not
anybody thats ever met a drug addict knows how unproductive they are.. very few people have the ability to be a "weekend-party drug user".. people dont even have the willpower to stay off mcdonalds, let alone heroin.
where are the most drugs? where is the most crime? not a coincidence..drugs force people to do things they normally wouldnt. drugs ruin lives and take over neighborhoods. how about that guy in ny a few weeks ago that beat the shit out of that 100 year old lady to get 5$. take a wild guess what he needed money for..
if drugs were legal they would still be addictive..and they would be even more expensive. ever try to buy medicine without insurance.. insurance companys wont give you shit for rec drugs, and drug makers charge a shitload. so there would still be a black market. making trhem legal would only allow more and more people to get their hands on them.
