Any ideas on how to Tad proof the drivegate? He can squeeze out the space where the 2 connect.
My lil baby tater who at work doesn't even let me go to the bathroom without going with me was just down the street! Taking a little jaunt.
Chicken wire attached to one gate so that when it shuts it extends out over the other one?

chicken wire will work, pretty inexpensive too. or you can stick a giant funnel around his head so he couldn't squeeze through the opening

You can measure the gap between to the fence & go down to Home Depot (or whatever) & pick up a pvc pipe long enough & wide enough to fill in the gap.
Then, zip tie it to one end of the fence.
It should close the gap enough without looking too bad

Why not just call a contractor and have them build you a new Tad-proof gate?

ok you = daddy warbucks
me = orphan amy How expensive could a stoopid gate possibly be? It's not like you're asking for it to be gold-plated or anything.

I have the gates. We are talking about a 6 1/2 pound dog. He can get through a small space. There has to be a small space between the gates because you have the drop rod and locking clasp in the middle of them. I don't chain them together like an industrial site. And the bottom of the gates don't scrape across the pavement so where they meet he can get through at the bottom. Like in the space between these U's, he squeezes through.
UU ^
Little shit did that when I caught him on the sidewalk, ran up the driveway and squeezed his fuzzy ass back through. I'm sure one could be engineered that didn't have a gap in the middle. How 'bout a single gate that is mechanically operated, rather than a double gate that splits in the middle?

I think it would it would, I don't think I would have to zip tie it because I would just cut a slit in it. I have some black tubing for the ferrets, (2) 6ft lengths, I could cut a foot section off of. With a slit I think it would stay on by itself and I could slide it up and down when I opened the gate. That would cut the space in 1/2 and Tad should be foiled!! Do one like this:
I would rather stick a piece of plastic on there for $2, tyvm.

Chain-link??How "high crime area" chic of you. There is wood fencing around the rest of it now. I showed a pic of a chain link and said "like this, but not as tall" duh
Now it is chain link and plastic tubing

I like my idea better: EFIS or stucco-covered cement block fence, with decorative iron gate. It would be waaaaayy less "white trash" than the whole wood/chain-link/plastic combo.

That wouldn't cost anywhere near a million dollars. Maybe 10k or so I'm guessing?
