Also asian women are starting to make more of a name for themselves in the golf world...This all goes back to some black people categorizing other blacks as not being true "blacks" because they don't have origins from western slavery....I wish they would think the same way about the white people that their ancestors didn't come over to America until after slavery was abolished, but no one ever brings that up they just assume all blacks ancestors were slaves and all whites ancestors were slave owners......

Only some 5% of the American population ever had slaves, which isn't to say they had plantations. That includes people who just had one or two, only about 2% actually owned large numbers. So, essentially 1 in 20 and 1 in 50, respectively. Then when you consider the number of immigrants who came during and after the end of slavery, relatively few Americans were even related to slave owners.

Well, in terms of assessing our white guilt, I think the measure is more the degree to which our current lives were made possible by the injustices of the past - rather than what our direct descendants might have done.

And in that respect, slavery - while a solid #2 - still doesn't come close to the genocide and continued economic exploitation of the native Americans.

Haha, I don't have much white guilt seeing as the only reason my family came to this country when they did was because Hitler just couldn't stand them for some reason or another. The irony being, Hitler modelled concentration camps on Native American "reservations". He also took many of his battle strategies from Robert E. Lee.

I disagree.  I feel ZERO guilt for something that neither I nor my direct ancestors had anything to do with.  And it pisses me off when someone suggests that I should based soley on the color of my skin, since that's much more of a "racist" concept than anything I could come up with.

American blacks were selectively bred via artificial selection and this a true fact. There's a huge physical disparity between africans and african americans and there's no denying it.

When the africans sold their own kind for rum and salt, they also made sure they trapped the biggest and most physically fit individuals and the whites continued this tradition well into the new world.

take the case of basketball:  a lot of inner city kids view basketball as a means of escaping poverty and thus their energies are poured into.

take the case of baseball: this sport is viewed by many latin americans as a means of escaping poverty and thus you see a large proportion of major league roster dominated by latins

sports such as tennis and golf require and lot start up cost which many "poorer" families cannot afford and thus you see it dominated by families with the means to have their kids involved

They view basketball as an escape because they know that they've got the physical talent for it!

You are probably right about baseball though, but keep in mind a large number of hispanics are mixed with new world blacks.
