I'm a Sergeant on a department located about an hour outside of Chicago. We have close to 50 sworn. I would say that there is no one on my department that is juiced and of the thousands of cops that I have met over the years, there have only been 2 or 3 that I have suspected of juicing.
While I agree with the last two paragraphs in your post, this first portion is completely delusional. If you can honestly say that of the thousands of cops you've met, you only think 2 or 3 juiced you need to find a different profession.
First, I appreciate the job you do and respect that you are doing a service for us to protect the law on a local level. But, I know too many cops who are really no different than your average citizen aside from they don't get in any legal trouble for breaking the same laws. If its not juicing, they smoke pot, drink and drive, speed when not in pursuit, confiscating and then selling drugs, participating in illegal gambling, etc. I know multiple cops who smoke weed and bet with bookies. Conservatively, I'll say that 60% (in my opinion its much higher) of cops have huge egos that only inflate once on the job. They think they're untouchable and get on huge power trips, mostly younger officers. They contort the fact they're using illegal substances into justification that's its part of their job.
Again, with steroids, its the same as everything else. If you see some punk 24 year old cop with veins bursting out of his forearms just from getting out of the car, can you honestly say you think he's natural. I'm 26, and have been lifting seriously for at least the last 6 years. I'm natural and the only supplement you'll find in my house is a bag of whey protein I use if I absolutely cannot get whole food. In the six years of reading mags, doing research and gaining experience, you quickly figure out what you're capable of physically and the limitations of not juicing and how much of what you're reading is propaganda bullshit. I'm fine with that, its my choice. Also, I'm not some hater who thinks everyone that looks better than me is juicing. That's not at all the case but it makes it quite easy to tell the difference between someone juicing vs. a natural. Its more about intimidation, the cop wanting to get out of his cruiser and intimidate his prospective arrests with his size and probable strength.
