The FBI has already been shown to abuse their extended powers, so what makes people think some other agency wont do it? And this is the internet we're talking about here, it's a pretty important place where people engage in things they would like to keep secret.

the internet is controlled by routers sitting in different places on the planet..now these different routers belong to different ISP and the language they speak in is called BGP (border gateway protocol)

not many know the locations of where these BGP routers sit...

if ya know where these are you know what traffic is coming from where..

They just wanna enact legislation to make what already do fully legal.  >:(

bingo! and the deeper i get into the IT world..
1) the more i realize that i dont know shit...
2) the more surprised i am how easy it is to track ANYONE...given the right equiptment (ie a protocol analyzer thats hardware based (around 10 k)

network security seems to be designed with holes in it..for marketing purposes..  >:(
