Levrone Has a Better Shot Now Than Ever
« on: April 04, 2007, 12:56:48 AM »
It's easy to see why Levrone didn't have a shot at an Olympia during the 90's and earlier this decade, but now the field is so thin Kevin definatly has a shot at beating the top crop of competitors.

Martinez is arguably the #3 guy in the sport and he's the same size as Kevin.  Kevin totally blows away Martinez IMO.  Vic may have a better back, but all of Levrone's best bodyparts combine just eclipse Victor's superior back.

Ronnie was the road block in Levrone's career after Yates retired.  The Ronnie that denied Kevin all those years ago is long gone.  I believe Kevin at 240 looks much better than Ronnie at the '06 Olympia.

If Kevin could come so close to winning an Olympia against champions like Yates and Coleman in their prime, Cutler ain't shit.  Sure Jay is so much bigger than Levrone, but Jay nowadays looks like complete shit compared to the guys that Levrone lost to in the past.

The bottom line is that if Levrone comes back in his past form then he sure as hell has a shot at winning the Olympia and finally changing the direction of bodybuilding.  If  change is going to occure it must happen this year because it seems like the field is wide open.

I agree.  I also don't think age will play a factor.  Kevin doesn't seem to age anyway.
He is lucky that way
On the other hand Ruhl has a hard time looking under 45 when in fact he is 35

Assuming Levrone could get back to shape.

He doesn't have the legs anymore to compete with Cutler, Freeman, Branch etc...

Great Shoulders, Monster Tris, Good Back and Bis, Tight waist....but NO LEGS!

And don't post pics from 1993 before he had his back injury.

If Levrone comes in at 240-250, he'd look great, but he WON'T win the Olympia.

He'll be standing next to Cutler who will be a bit shorter, but will have 30 lbs more mass. We all know the judges will vote for Cutler due to the bigger mass, and due to the fact that he's the current Mr. O.

If it weren't like this, then Dexter or Victor would have won.

What's funny is that he abandoned bodybuilding to make it in Hollywood. Guess acting is a lot harder than training.

IMO Levrone was saying all the opposite of what I thought was the right answer...

Go back to bodybuilding - YES
Win the Olympia- YES
If you win the olympia do you stay at your new BB weight or shrink back down to normal weight of 190? - Shrink back down
Redline worth seeing- YES

is any of this being said WITHOUT looking solely at his mid-1990s appearance? at BEST you can say kevin was in prime form 7 years ago, but more realistically it was 10 years ago. sure if you got a time machine and grabbed him from 1997 and brought him on stage now he'd do great, but 2007? are you kidding?

IF KEVIN BROUGHT HIS LEGS IN the way he use to, he would be top 3 for surrrreee....  Victor may have him on shape, but you cannot compare a guy who is ripped and full.  Victor is usually flat…or spills over or whatever… Kevin, well Kevin can win it, but does he want to roll on 16's…or is he bring'n his 22's…Like any car, the rims make the car!

Give it a rest.

Levronie is too smart to come back. It was a fun ride when he was in the scene- he was one of the most charismatic pros, no surprise he is finding his way into hollywood.

Why on earth if any of you cared about the guy, would want to see him back at 42, doing all that gear for what!!!?? To suffer and lose his health??

Levronie is the man, and he Clashed with the titans when they were all at their best.  He is my all time favorite bb. His physique was just so unique, especially his freaky most muscular!!!

I'm excited to see him compete again and he'll probably do pretty well, but I winning it is pretty unlikely.  He was never able to win it in the past when he was bodybuilding full-time and the competition was weaker, so why are his chances so high now after taking a five year layoff?  When he competed you didn't have guys that weighed more than 280.

NO- he would not see top 5 at the O. if he did total charity. no way he can beat ronnie or jay, victor or dexter, melvin anthony is looking better also. no top 5 for kevin

Rumor has it.... hes IN. Should be interesting, if he comes in the way he did in 2000 or even 2003 he WINS.  No way does cutler beat THAT Levrone.  Has a champ ever been dethroned two years in a row?

Cutler vs. Levrone (top shape)

Waist - Levrone by a mile
Chest - Levrone by a mile
Delts - Levrone but close
Traps - Levrone
Arms - Levrone
Back - Thickness Cutler, Detail Levrone
Legs - Cutler by a mile
Stage presence and performance... we dont even gotta get into that one haha

Thinking Kevin can beat Jay is like thinking your local pro at the golf course could beat Tiger Woods at Augusta.  Ain't happening in this lifetime.

Waist, Abs - Levrone
Chest - You've got to be kidding me? Levrone has no chest, Cutler in a landslide
Delts - Even
Back - Cutler, not even close...Levrone's back was never in Coleman's league and Cutlers is much bigger now
Arms - Both are huge, both have massive tris and not very big bicep peaks....slight edge to levrone
Legs -  ::)

Cutler would dominate.

You guys are rediculous....you just can't take off 4 years and expect to come back and win. Levrone, training all out for years straight didn't even have the size or density needed to win the Olympia, and now you think he will when he is 190lbs and the competition is bigger than ever?  :-\
