I didn't make it in NY,

I moved from Toronto to there to work with a fashion designer friend (who had found a banker). I lived at the Chelsea Hotel and we had a showroom in the best building on 7th Ave and a massive workroom on 8th. Our dresses were in Saks and Bergdorfs, in the windows, that's the way I remember it, & I was was wearing the original dress, the dress we'd stayed up all night to design, the one that was on the front of Women's Wear Daily each morning, although Calvin Klein had got it to print before us!

That lasted 6 months and then he started spending all his money on art and the occasional coke binge.

I wore the samples he made on me to the best parties. Unfortunately that didn't pay the rent and the backer pulled out on April 1st (yes, we were a tax write off) and I had to give up and fly to London.

I'd love to re-visit NY, but I don't think I know anyone who lives there anymore...

There is. I saw the advertisement for it last night. It is obviously just a show as there is no way in hell any sane person would put themselves through that for a fouth time. And if it's not just for show, she needs to wake up and learn how to treat people, otherwise no one is going to want her.
