Randy is 43..Ray Mercer just turned 46 on the 4th
Boy, it's amazing to see when people don't let an old man move into their body what happens. Things are changing and people want to compete more and I think it will become common to see this throughout all sports soon, just as we're seeing in bodybuilding.
The mets signed a 48 year old trop a multi year contract I belive. Also, imagine how the Red Sox must feel today??? If I'm correct they told Roger he was basically no worth the money like 8 years ago and if I aint mistaken he has won cy youngs and is obviously one of the best pitchers in the game every year he plays.
It's when you stop TRAINING like you did wehen you were 25 that skills deminish. The ONLY sport I think that will have a age thing (but more a numbers of absorbed punches thing) is boxing. Only because of the numbers of shots guys take on a career, whereas in mma you get hit with a couple good shots the fight is usually stopped and your pretty much out of it because of lack of padding. So aside from boxing I think every other sport will see older guys at the top of their game....gh has a lot to do with it.
