Dude, are you really gonna go there with me? I am a national champion natrual powerlifter, competed in numerous bodybuilding shows, training with former Mr. Americas and Wrold Champion powerlifters...I am 5'6 215 with a near 400 bench, over 500 squat and over 600 dead...and I am fairly lean...lean enough to get in shape for a bodybuilding show in 8-10 if I chose to do so. What do you have to bring to this discussion? So yes...I have grown plenty with my approach...ass hat.
what does your schedule look like now Nick? those are great lifts BTW.

When i train twice or 3 times a week  can see myself growing fast.

when i trained 5, 6 times a week i get overtrained and never grow muscle.

if you re natural 3 times a week is all you need.

discuss.

I go four times per week right now...Mon Tues Thurs Fri. I do each bodypart 1x per week. I do cardio 20 minutes after each workout too so that I can keep my calories up a bit. I do short, intense workouts...little rest as possible. Never use a belt or other crap unless I am doing singles. I prefer 5-6 rep range...with 6 being either spotted and forced, or bairly able to do it on my own...every set. With warm ups of course. I usually do shoulders and traps Mon. Legs and Calves Tuesday. Chest and Tris Thurs. Back and Bis Friday. I only do my sets of 5-6 on compound or major moves...benhc squat rows deads etc. Smaller shit is 8 to 10. Short and hard...I would laugh at some of these guys who say they could TRAIN 5-6 times a week. They would leave half way through my first leg or back day and then not walk for another 5 days, let alone train. If you can go to the gym 5-6 times a week with no drugs...YOU ARE NOT WORKING OUT HARD ENOUGH. PERIOD.

I cannot tell if you are being sarcastic or not...but the answer is yes. Someone else...and DA or course were already asking me to post some pics. I moved this year and have to get competition photos out of the attic. As far as a current pic, I will snap a few with my cell phone this week and post for you...if you are trying to be funny...eat my ass...with grape jelly.

National champ in what fed?  HAHAHA

I should compete there, I would be a national champ too!  Hell, I think there would be about 8 guys who train at my gym who would be national champs.

If you think a 500lb squat is impressive, you've got the wrong fella.

AAU Raw Division smart guy...no drugs no shirt, wraps...belt optional. If you are so impressive, let's here what competions you have done...a few I have won are the AAU East Coast Classic, AAU NJ State Championshp, AAU Raw Nationals...all at 198lbs. I have competed in four or five others where I did not win. I also was Mr. Teen Philly many moons ago...1991 but that was juiced at 18...so I even know about that some. I placed 4rth with no drugs in the Mr. PA contest which was not drug tested...4 bodybuilding shows total. If 500 squat is not impressive lets hear about your competitions...have you ever had the nerve to strap on the trunks or wrestling suit and do your thing in front of everyone? Let's hear what makes you so impressive and to get back to the to[ic...dispute anything I said about how I train...aaaaand go.

I've won both powerlifting meets, and bodybuilding shows.
You will soon learn that those accomplishments mean nothing on the internet, and in all reality, mean nothing to anyone but you.

I do these things for myself.  Being an internet braggart proves nothing more than you believe your minor accomplishments make you something special.

You are not anything special.
If you were, you wouldn't have to tell me about your accomplishments, I would have already known.

Keep that in mind next time you're trying to impress someone with your mediocrity.

1st off, Meltdown!!!  Damn Poser, all of your threads are.  Did you wake up on the wrongside of the bed?

2nd, Monster Hypocracy in the above statements.  How are you going to attack Nick when you don't even have credibility here.  You have less than 100 posts man.

Last, If you've won BB shows and are a powerlifter then why do you not have stars next to your name?

If you're the real deal man up and PM Ron your info and have him verify it.  If you get stars Then I'll admit I was wrong about you, if not you're a POSER.

Dr. C,
I'm as chill as can be brutha, I'm not saying he can't or shouldn't give training advice, it's a BB forum.  He's been trolling all these threads.  If he says hes done some shows, he should be able to back it up.

i got a fucking great idea.....how about you train for what works best for YOU!!! everyone has a difference in ability to heal....

for example i can do 3 sets of squats and my wheels are sore for days but my biceps/back take a shitload of sets and reps to get stimulated and sore....i have done 5 days a week hammering out set after set and did not grow, just got tired and weak....4 times a week with around 12 sets per body part works great for me....i'm natural so i heal slower than the TEST/GH crowd

I get great results off of training 3 times a week.  I just do alot of compound movements and that taxes my muscles and CNS.  I rest and eat the other days.  I've been doing this for over 13 years so what works for me may not work for others.

Just do what works best for you, if you get caught up in what others tell you and switch your routine every time you think you find something better you will never give your body a chance to see what works and what doesnt.  Give every workout at least 16 weeks to see if your body is responding.  If your changing your workout everytime a new issue of FLEX comes out, you are banging your head against the wall.

there's merit to both approaches, Dballin makes great points about gaining strength and mass i get the best results from training a bodypart once per week but i think you can do more workouts per week if they are short, some people need more rest, i would just get fatter with too many rest days ;D i remember Palumbo saying that more workouts per week is better for fat loss because you're burning more calories throughout the week.

true dat!! i am rooting for you bro....i hope you can stick to shedding and get cut....i think you will look great after cutting plus you will be able to stick it in all the haters fucking faces....if that isn't motivation, i don't know what is....make it happen!!
