It seems sensible that Jim Manion should be at every pro contest to make sure the rules are followed and that decisions can be made to solve protests and problems. If he is unable to be present then someone who can make decisions should be there to run things properly. It just seems like things can be run better than they are at the moment. Manion's job should be an annually elected one, too.

I have been ASKING for the "respect" (which is the bottom line) or (what we call) - the opportunity to compete...for A LONG, LONG TIME...

If you remember at 2004 Mr. Olympia Press conference you and Triple H gave me a microphone as "Well, Milos always have something to say and ask - so go ahead Milos"...

Even though I was surprised and didn't expect to "talk" I immediately thought of WHAT IS TH EMOST IMPORTANT for the bodybuilders, competitors, fans...Mr. Olympia competition...and BODYBUILDING IN GENERAL...

I said; "I am not going to ask the question...rather I would like to urge all the judges to realize that EVERY COMPETITOR HERE (all the ladies and the gentelmen...IFBB professionals) are here for one thing: TO COMPETE.

For the Love of God - please allow them to do that.
Give them comparisons and true chance to show what they got...what they work so hard for all these years...

I am sure that Ronnie Coleman would have NO PROBLEM being compared...As back in the day he was that guy - waiting to be called out...and compared...
He is confident that IF compared he will prove that he is better - so guys like him DON'T MIND the comparison...but as a competitor myself - I can tell you that THERE IS NOTHING WORSE than being there on the stage only as a "stage decoration" and watching some guys getting 5-6 comparisons and you are not getting a single one...

This is Mr/Ms Olympia: BEST OF THE BEST....all of these athletes EARNED and DESERVED to be here...PLEASE - just give them a chance to compete...compare them.

All of us can easily deal with even the LAST PLACE if we had the chance to fight...but if we are not even compared and than placed whenever...that HURTS...[and many guys quit after years of being "disrespected" this way]

While I have to agree that last couple of shows were indeed better - it was still far away from our "requested" model or comparisons...

You went as far as stating that TOP TEN will be crisscrossed (correct me if I am wrong)...

But anyway...at the Ironman - I came there to hear your conversation and remind you and judges about ACCEPTED "MORE COMPARISONS" change...
I certainly didn't want to assume that NOBODY in the whole judging panel was informed about our motion - to get what we were asking for years...

As ridiculous as it sounds - our MOST IMPORTANT request seemed to be possibly resolved between you and Jim...in your conversation...not through the PROPER CHANNELS after all.

Obviously - if done properly (proper channels and all): don't you think that you would have written conformation...(something in writting?)

First - it would be requested...than discussed about it and finally when ACCEPTED - it would be announced publically and in the written form...

That way ALL OF US (including JUDGES and the athletes) will have crystal clear picture of what is going on...

Again, as sad as it seems - it looks to me that your "proper channel" this time around was - a phone call...or maybe a little chat with the president in some of the shows...hence - nobody but YOU and HIM knew about the ACCEPTED CHANGE....

Question - If Milos' comprison requirement was accepted by the IFBB, wouldn't there be some official written guidlines that would hve to be adhered to during the judging process? Such as a complete and separate and standardized "Comparison Round".

Or is that even necessary for the judges to come to a valid decision?

Then again, maybe this situation could be solved by something called a "Free For All Round" which would give all the participants 10 minutes to move around the stage and stand by the contender of his choice and start hitting poses. Hit a few comparative shots and then move on to the next competitor.

Or better yet, let each contender, while standing in a lineup, choose three or four other contenders to pose against for comparative purposes.

I don't know if this would satisfy anyone, but it might be worth considering and might prove interesting to the fans as to whom each contestant chooses to be compared with.

Stuntmovie's post is the most absurd suggestion for judging that I have ever heard. The people in NABBA evolved a good system to judge bodybuilders. This system can be built on and improved. There could also be an 'objective' component where competitors are photographed and a video made and all compared using standardized sizes, etc.

The fairest way to judge is to compare individuals. Therefore, the scoring of individuals when standing or posing by themselves should count only for selecting finalists. Typically we have various lineups followed by individual posing. When the finalists are selected the comparisons can occur. This can be a long process if every judge participates and has to separate all the finalists. There is little point in comparing competitors just so that everyone is compared. Usually some individuals stand out for excellence and they don't have to be compared. Likewise those at the other end don't have to be compared much except to those close in the standing. Where the difficult process occurs is among those who are close and therefore hard to separate. That is why we need many judges to do this properly and make the process fair. There is no way competitors can be judged while moving about on a stage and posing like they do in posedowns.

I am sure there are some experienced people who have tackled this problem so that the best people should win and the rest are properly placed. That doesn't mean the judges have to agree. If you select honest judges who can discriminate among the competitors then the process should be valid.

The IFBB seems to have a judging system that isn't optimal for bodybuilding. When are bodybuilders going to do something about this? Well, the system in place in the IFBB doesn't seem to be one that can easily be changed. No one can deny that the Mr Olympia has been controversial for many years now and in the past, too. Well, except for when Sergio won uncontested!
