Hidetada Yamagishi can squat more than Art Atwood?

MD says in an article about Hide that he swuats 570 for 10 reps, ass to ankles which gives a 1rm of 760lbs

then in Arts article it says he squatted 585 for 8 as his heaviest weights, which gives a 1rm of 726

is it feasible enough to think the shorter Hide could squat more than the much much larger Art?

if you read the article right, it says that was when atwood was younger and weighed 250.

I have never trained LEGS with anyone who can outlift Hide...
Strength, endurance, drive, intensity...nobody beats my "Rainbow Roll"...
Hmmmmmm - maybe I should call him a SAMURAII rather than SUSHI (it sounds little better - don't you think?)

so...nobody beats my "Musashi Myamoto".... ;D

It could very well be true.

Hide is a short guy, Atwood is taller.

It also depends on the specific biomechanics, such as thigh length. It's not like I keep a big stash of pics of either guy, so I couldn't say who's got the best build for squatting, but from the weight lifted, it seems like Hide has the advantage.

I'm sure a stubby little fella with stumps for legs and tall upper body (ie dwarf body composition) like Lee Priest can squat huge weights. Shawn Ray too.

yo milos...do you use the mega set rule when doing legs too...also..you wouldnt happen to have some sort of training book or anything...


Like the thing is..I know the basics. (im natty also). I was doin the classic 4x8 thing...Well this dude that trains with Toney freeman does something like you. with the whole dropping weights dramatically thing and all. But the the is i only trained with him for like a week and i didnt get to really grasp the concept...anyway. i just wanted a guide or something becase that workedthe best for me. When i trained like that it didnt seem like i needed cardio. but see if you can fish something out please...thanks.

Being that there is no "squat round" in pro BB....it really doesn't matter what either one of them do for a max, etc.

Thread was about "Re: Hidetada Yamagishi can squat more than Art Atwood?" so this time I took the look out of equation and didn't think "bodybuilding" ...rather: strength/intensity comment.

I have no idea how much Art squat...and by the looks of it (here we go) - he looks like he can squat - a house!

I only want to say that I did train with many professionals and Hide really impresses me with his work ethics, drive and intensity he brings EVERY TIME WE TRAIN...
I don't remember EVER having just so-so workout with Hide...
It would be always like - MAN, THAT WAS UNBELIEVABLE...just about every time we finish our session...
Hell, TODAY is the leg day...now when I think of it...

I am picking up Dennis (Wolf) in an hour or so...and 3 PM sharp - we are all doing legs...
Anyone cares to join?

Did you count how many cross striations do you see?
Ask Shawn - he certainly knows...He counted out loud many times...(I thought he was counting my reps /we trained together long ago/ until I realized otherwise) ;D

But, on the serious note - why would you guys think/assume that when someone mentions insulin - it means: injectable insulin?
Do you realize that it is quite easy to accomplish specific and timely release of your own - "endogenous" insulin...?

I wouldn't give a rats ass what I could squat if my legs looked like that. I would stay at home and constantly flex them in the mirror while I admired them. Honestly, maybe not in size but certainly in separation and detail, those quads give Platz a run for his money! :o Never thought I'd be so impressed with a set of legs outside of Platz. Nice Wheels Milos!

I would love to. But the 500 mile drive in 2.5hrs would probably A) give me a huge ticket I can't pay B) tire me out C) not allow me to go my fullest and I would let Milos (and myself) down.

hahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 570 for 10 doesn't give you ANYWHERE NEAR 760, more like 650-660.
