Clinton had his chance but did nothing, we were attacked left and right during Clintons watch and he did nothing, Bush came in to make an attempt to do what Clinton failed to do..........like it or not, your boy Clinton could have started to at least do something to prevent terrorism instead he did NOTHING!

Did more, or less, than 2,976 Americans die of terror attacks during the Clinton Era?

(I'm referring to only one attack on Bush's watch, 9/11.)

Rob, be real............that attack took years to plan, Bush was only in office for about 6 or so months!

Mr I,

Bush was given SPECIFIC DETAILS OF THIS ATTACK, 6 weeks before 9/11, from the intelligence agencies of our allies.  When 4 or more world leaders all call you the same week, and give you NAMES AND TARGETS AND METHODS AND DATE, and you don't act...

I'm sorry you blame CLinton for Bush not acting when given a giftwrapped game plan for 9/11.

Again, IF this is true (sources please) I'm quite sure that he get details on potential attacks everyday.

He was on vacation, and was videotaped playing golf that week.

I think he had time to get on the phone and tell the FBI to grab up these 5 clowns (who he was told on Aug 6 were gonna fly planes into towers on 9/11) and have a talk with them.  You don't IGNORE identical info from leaders of allies, and play golf.

"Didn't have time"
"Didn't have time"
"Didn't have time"
"Didn't have time"
"Didn't have time"
"Didn't have time"

Holy cripes, listen to yourself man.  He had 6 weeks to order those 5 men to be talked to.  And he didn't.

He had unlimited law enforcement resources, 6 weeks, and very specific details of the polt, and he did nothing.  nothing.  Info from VERY credible allies.  And nothing.

Well, less than nothing.  It seems the FBI investigations into Atta and his friends was frozen and classified instantly in mid-august.  The feds on the case were ordered NOT to investigate any further.  This executive order came from the white house, buddy.  SO he had time to freeze an existing investigation into Atta, but he didn't have time to stop 3000 deaths.

Mossad and Germany told us on Aug 5/6, the same day Tenet brought an emergency intelligence memo to crawford TX from DC, with lights blaring.  He handed Condi a since-classified document on impending attacks.  She never read it.  This was the same day Ger and Isr told us.

Fucks sake man, you cannot dismiss it as "everyday intel".  The fucking head of the CIA flies across the country to hand deliver an envolep and they don't read it.  Fuck, joe.  Please tell me you're not this gullible as to believe they didn't take the threat seriously.

Joe,

The heads of 4 intel agencies - our allies - along with our own CIA - finds the same threat the same week with details.

Then, over the next 6 weeks, we receive the SAME warnings from 6 OTHER alles.  Then France tells us.  Then the TALEBAN tells us about it on Sept 9th.

I don't know how you can mark this up to incompetence.

.... Clinton could have started to at least do something to prevent terrorism instead he did NOTHING!
Does this look like nothing?

Consider the steps offered by Clinton's 1996 omnibus anti-terror legislation, the pricetag for which stood at $1.097 billion. The following is a partial list of the initiatives offered by the Clinton anti-terrorism bill:
•   Screen Checked Baggage: $91.1 million
•   Screen Carry-On Baggage: $37.8 million
•   Passenger Profiling: $10 million
•   Screener Training: $5.3 million
•   Screen Passengers (portals) and Document Scanners: $1 million
•   Deploying Existing Technology to Inspect International Air Cargo: $31.4
million
•   Provide Additional Air/Counterterrorism Security: $26.6 million
•   Explosives Detection Training: $1.8 million
•   Augment FAA Security Research: $20 million
•   Customs Service: Explosives and Radiation Detection Equipment at Ports: $2.2 million
•   Anti-Terrorism Assistance to Foreign Governments: $2 million
•   Capacity to Collect and Assemble Explosives Data: $2.1 million
•   Improve Domestic Intelligence: $38.9 million
•   Critical Incident Response Teams for Post-Blast Deployment: $7.2 million
•   Additional Security for Federal Facilities: $6.7 million
•   Firefighter/Emergency Services Financial Assistance: $2.7 million
•   Public Building and Museum Security: $7.3 million
•   Improve Technology to Prevent Nuclear Smuggling: $8 million
•   Critical Incident Response Facility: $2 million
•   Counter-Terrorism Fund: $35 million
•   Explosives Intelligence and Support Systems: $14.2 million
•   Office of Emergency Preparedness: $5.8 million
The Clinton administration poured more than a billion dollars into counterterrorism activities across the entire spectrum of the intelligence community, into the protection of critical infrastructure, into massive federal stockpiling of antidotes and vaccines to prepare for a possible bioterror attack, into a reorganization of the intelligence community itself.

I'm sorry but if we are going to read terrorists' minds I would say that Bush has emboldened terrorists more than any human ever has by virtue of the invasion of Iraq.

Worldwide terrorism is growing exponentially b/c of the example the current president has set.

Much like the No WMDS the smoking gun with Clinton is in two parts..One he could have had him in Sudan..maybe the CIA didn't care..maybe Bill had other things going on..but we could have smoked him then. Part 2..They could have had in Afghanistan...instead of Cruise missles..Delta/Seals...overwith. Maybe at that point we still get 911 but I don't think we do if he gets turned over in Sudan. Further maybe had Somalia gone better, things would be different. Les Aspen pulls out Armor and Gunship support.....Even had the Rangers gotten into trouble....one AC-130 gun run and no more militia men..1 platoon of Armor could have saved some of those 19 guys. At this point it doesn't matter.

I don't understand - if it is all the libs fault, why do the terrorists attack the US (which is centre right) and not some of the more left wing inclined countries (such as the ones in the EU)?

That is, unless you like fat chicks and pizza.  :P

Both Bubba and Bush have a lot of likeability, a lot of charm.

Bubba is more of a player, while Bush comes across like a side-kick kind of guy.

He's the Jerry Lundegaard of politics.
