BEASTS on bb.com handing out advices
« on: May 10, 2007, 04:27:46 PM »
i dont know how many of u read that site but its seriously becoming laughable, all these threads with kids frantically trying to figure out their little suppliment stacks and handing out extremely specific diet advices as if it was the word of god handed down to them specifically, then you look at their stats and its like '6 foot, 150 lbs'.
you try to tell these noobs to stop eating their super strict, clean magazine  diets and to stop worrying about their glutamine post workout intake and crap like that and you get flamed.

the new avatar system is great though. ive never seen so many contorted poses and mean glares coming from such omnipotent magnificent spartan warriors before

They are the ones that are making supplements companies rich.  Unfortunetly I used to be one of them when I was about 14-16, now at 19, I know better.

Yes. I remember I used to read bb.com and t-mag (the old t-nation). It was very much like John Matrix described.

John, I agree with what you posted, although while reading "specific diet advices" I couldn't help but think of Arnold saying "da wrong advices".  ;D

I love the entire bodybuilding.com business model, but I also understand the point you are making about some of the members of the forum.  Either way, you have to admire Ryan Deluca for creating that giant of a resource.

LOL.  Ive been over to order supps before, and looked thru their board.  Its true I noticed they were beanpoles talking about strict nutrition.

Those guys need to eat more pizza and do some powerlifting so they can build something to work with............funny as hell ;D

I archived this post from bodybuilding.com:

http://www.bodybuildingpro.com/jaycutlerspostworkoutshake.html

Sometimes it's nice to archive threads, especially on getbig where they get deleted so frequently.  Plus it's easier to read when they are corrected for spelling and organized on a page like that I find.  Notice how they are so surprised Jay drinks coke?  If they only had any idea what some bodybuilders do...using actual coke for cutting for instance.  Some people are still under the impression professional bodybuilding is healthy.  However, you will find that level of naivety on most boards at one time or another.

lee priest said it best when he talked about not making things so technical....i used to calculate everything to the gram and it just stressed me out.....you are better off doing what is natural, but of course using a little science....it took me years to realize that i don't need a lot of carbs in my diet....i workout hard but my job is mostly at a computer, so it just wasn't necessary...and timing is everything for me with carbs

I Couldn't agree more!!! I was looking around there once when this forum was down, and i know I am jaded because this is the only forum I have ever been on, but It was like the Twilight Zone!!! Fat guys and skinny guys were getting encouragement and praise. And your right all this talk about you gotta do this and that and then you look over and the guy is 18 yrs old and 150 lbs.

These kids = teh funny. The first thing they say when they see a vid of a guy benching 500: "His form is not good enough", when they can bench 160 pounds themselves.
