Hi guys, just wanted some of your opinions on using dextrose during your workoutWould this have a negative effect on insulin levels etc?How many mg could I consume to aid intensity, before it's stored as fat?
During the workout? Uh uh, no, IMO. If you spike insulin during the workout with dextrose, you're going to experience an energy crash before completion. That's why you wait until immediately after.
i dont think sipping on a small amount while training will have any negative effects. 20-25g at most should be fine.when my workouts were longer i used to sip on a just whey n sometimes a whey/dextrose drink only if my energy level was really down.lately ive been getting my workouts in pretty quick so i dont feel like i need anything other than some water.
