I have competed in over 30 shows from 78-95, won at least my wt class in the NPC Golds Classic, NPC W North Carolina, NPC Ironman Natural , etc.
Any guy or gal that diets down and puts their individual best on stage is a real bodybuilder. How you place often deals with genetics and sadly, available drug use.

Several in Bodybuilding and Powerlifting. Won 1 Bodybuilding regional and 7 Powerlifting.

If I tell you the Bucs' D-line sucks, and that the Bears have a terrible QB in Grossman, am I "disrespecting the sport"?

No.  I'm growing sport awareness for the NFL. I'm being a fan, talking about what i like and don't like.

Saying "so-and-so is a bloated pig" or "so-and-so has shit in his arms" is just fan discussion.  

Many bodybuilders and sport followers are mixed up.  They want the respect and popularity/$ of a real sport, but believe they deserve the reverence of a beauty contest.  Make up your mind, you know?

in a way you're right, i've never seen more 500 pound benchers, 700 pound squatters and deadlifters and 280 pound musclefreaks with 22 inch arms and 2 percent bodyfat than i've heard on getbig ::) everyone on here is a beast if you believe everything you read on here but it's funny that you very rarely ever see any of these beasts in the gyms, they must be hiding during the day and coming out at 2 in the morning. ;D

But not all, some like to think the board is filled with teenagers/buck toothed jackasses/geeks/haters but there are some decent physiques behind some of the names. Granted there are some horrors as well...but we balance out ;D

LOL, I know it. In bodybuilding I am no top guy by any means, especially now. However, I do seem to be one of the biggest, strongest guys in most gyms I train at. I handle some decent wts and have some decent overall size, and obviously could be leaner, etc
