I got so big by working too damn much, having very little time, and being hooked on bagels and Orange Chicken.
With all due respect, if you wanted to, you'd be in shape.
Let's cut down to the real reason why you (and so many others) aren't in shape: it takes some work and dedication. Now, i understand, with a family and a job etc it's harder to motivate yourself because you already have to take care of those things. However, if you set your mind to it (which is the most important aspect here) there's really nothing in the way.
Working out shouldn't take long. You can do it at home (
http://fitness.scoobysworkshop.com/chest.htm) , maybe 4 times a week, 45mins. Spend some less time on getbig and you're there. When i don't have time i often do it, if you do it with some intensity it's just as good as a gym workout.
About the food aspect: take a look at your stomach. That thing increases your chance of heart-attack, diabetes, etc... Eat a salad with some tuna instead of that big mac with fries, it's not that hard.
