SILVERBACK ON THE LOOSE

BREAKING NEWS

About an hour ago a silverback gorilla escaped and is on the loose in Blijdorp Zoo in Rotterdam, The Netherlands.

Several people have been attacked, at least one woman is badly injured. The zoo has been evacuated and a team of specialists are hunting down the Alpha Male.

UPDATE

The gorilla has been caught.

Immediately after he escaped he attacked a woman wich he also dragged with him for hundreds of feet. There are also reports of him dragging along other people. He ended up at a little snackbar/restaurant which he entered through the glass. This establishment was filled with people and panic broke out. In this panic the gorilla started to lash out and ended up wounding several people.

They succeeded to corner the silverback in the establishment where a team of specialists sedated the animal.

Dutch authorities are blaming violent movies for this outbreak of violence.

apparently the gorilla was watching Peter Jackson's King Kong in his air-conditioned den, when he suddenly turned the tv off, swam the moat (most gorillas can't swim, but this one had learned from repeatedly watching his collection of Inge de Bruijn recordings), and seized the closest blonde woman.
