I know that it is hard to get a major publishing house to take on a project like this, unless it was a mainstream celeb like Arnold. BUt, pros like Flex Wheeler ( Flex Appeal) and Bob Paris (Gorilla Suit) have written and published books on their life in bodybuilding. A lot of media interest and hype has been made over the steroids in sports issue.
I think it would be acceptable and even advisable to get an experienced writter or journalist (like Ron Harris or John Ramano) to help insure the book will be a success.
One thing you could do Lee, is to compete in an IFBB pro show, CLEAN and then file a law suit on the grouds they failed to enforce their own drug testing rules. John Ramano come up with this idea and felt FLEX Wheeler might do it in the Olympia his last year, but, he never did. Having said that, my gut feeling is "why bother??".
If you do retire now Lee, you leave with as one of the greats and your name intact.
Unless you can make some decent $$$ from a book , why not just walk away and move on the greener pastures.
I wish you well, no matter what you do.
