What gets me most is how ol' Basile goes on and on about what an obvious clown Goodrum is - yet he can't understand why Goodrum doesn't get it!

Total inability to self-assess.

I totally agree with you, I want to like him but I can stand but hate his online personality. I highly doubt he acts the same way offline, I am also very sure he is a great gym owner and very into the business unlike some owners. I would def sign up at his gym if I lived in the area...

Here is a sculpture I did in 1983. It was my vision of an ideal female muscular form.

What were you thinking, Vince?  Her penoris wouldn't even get an "honorable mention" in today's IFBB.

Holy Crap :o

How did Paul not win the Olympia. His physique was definitely at it's best in '92-'93. I think he just did what a lot of guys do, get their pro card and take the foot off the pedal and not train as hard.

A couple things......

The bicep supinator machine is different from what I can tell because it appears there's tension through the supination.

To my knowledge....I don't know of one other out there that does.

But....

The cabling looks to be rigged at 50% or less.  I did a basic "once over" but the ratio's looked reduced.  Not saying thats good or bad....especially with a small muscle group you want smaller increments in adjustments, but you're claiming it to be higher.

Second.....

All of those freeweight machines aint worth a piss if you don't have enough weight.  You built them (for some odd reason) to accept Std 1" dia. plates especially when during that time everything was being built with 2" Intl.  Looks like you have a bunch of 50's, but when you're training legs....you got no damn 100's.  In another words....aint worth a piss.  Unless you got a ton or so 100's with 1" dia laying around...but talk about a needle in a haystack.

When I get time, I'll examine more in detail some of your designs.  Some looked 'interesting' but others look dumb as hell.  You have some design flaws & some of your 'inventions' look downright unsafe.

It is always refreshing to hear the opinion of a true expert in bodybuilding and engineering. Thanks for the criticism.

There are no 1" plates in my gym. Most have 1 1/8 inch holes. We have plenty of Olympic plates, too.

The biceps supinator has two weight stacks. The small stack has 5.5 pound plates and the big stack has 20 pound plates. There is enough for anyone so far.

So that piece of shit leg apparatus has 1" plate holders for 1 1/8" plates......

WOW...I'm shocked. First, you try and give the barbarians advices (unsolicited) and they almost beat you more senseless than you are....and now you try and give ARNOLD a few pointers on posing and he "pushed you away".....at least you're still the same guy you were back in the day....annoying.

You were starting to look a little normal with the equipment pics, etc........until.... you took a sharp left at the corner of Stupid St. and Imanannoyinglittlefuck Ave.

You have no shame, I'll give you that...

You are proving that you are a true asshole. What kind of "athletes rep"would spend his time talking shit about former bodybuilders? You would, fuckface! Major solidarity..or perhaps major envy that Vince has accomplished more than you. Oh...you have accomplished being the Weider Schmoes paid and certified lier.

You're an idiot, Bob.  In 2007 Arnold may be a living legand, but way back in 1968 he was just another up and coming bodybuilder, and at that point in time it hardly would have been presumptuous on Vince's part to offer him advice.

Why would any one label a piece of gym equipment "shit leg apparatus"? Only on Getbig. Then you wonder why I don't want to discuss things with you guys.

Most of my plates have 29mm holes in the center and the weight holders are 1 1/8" I went with the York cast plates and we have about 100 X 20 kg plates and 110 X 10 kg plates.

I am going out for the day.

so...no 100lbs plates?

Like I said....for a leg piece....thats f'n worthless.

you built it for women...congratulations!  Maybe you can build equipment for Curves.

My mate Harry Daniels in Vancouver. He was a simple but genuine guy. I always had time for Harry. Last time I saw him he said he was a member of all gyms. This shot was taken outside Doug Hepburn's place. I will see if I can find a photo of Doug.

Harry had big arms and was quite strong. He never competed or got in contest condition. I don't think he ever got married, either. He used to record music from the radio. He was at my farewell party in 1987 when I was in Vancouver. Now that is a pretty city.

Vince,

Why post about Harry? Was he that genuine that we needed to know about him?

In Vince's defense (only one for tonight), with the angle on that squat machine, I do not think you would be able to do as much weight on it as with a regular hack squat.

Are you serious?  What if I drop an object from my hand?  Will it hit the ground or stay in the air?
