Perhaps they "couldn't do it on their own" because the objective and subjective conditions were not ready.  Perhaps the recognition of a civil war between factions kept Iraqi people from banding together against tyranny.  Perhaps the U.S. doesn't give a shit about what happens to them because of our personal (financial) interests.

We are not "#1."  That's just our imperialist rationalization that we use to harm people in other countries.

Even if "Global Warming" is a myth, doesn't it make sense to be nice to the environment if you can? How much does it "cost" to be more fuel conscientious. I thought if you used less fuel, you'd spend LESS money.
