come to think of it, I dont like Overeem either. I remember noticing how he packed on about 25 pounds of mucles in between fights about 3 or 4 months apart....and nobody said anything...nothing wierd there eh, Pride? And he seems to come to fight in good shape but then gasses out after 4 minutes?
I also don't care for Deigo Sanchez...I remember him coming out of the first season of TUf and thought he was arrogant. Cant stand arrogant shit talking fighters period...but especially ones that bring Jesus into it. As if Jesus would be for pounding the shit outta another human.
I respect fighters like Mirko, Fedor, Couture, Shogun, Takada, Rutten and Henzo who go out and let their skills do the talking. And nothing makes you look like a bigger chump in my book then talking-shit and then getting stomped. If you really need that ego booster to do your job then you dont really have the confidence required.
For that reason I also dont like Mayweather... and god dammit is he talented. What a shame.
Other than Henzo I dont care much for the Gracie Family (shit talking brazilians who only fight with special conditions, time limits, judging etc) and then say their style is the best in the world. Is it? Then prove it because UFC 1,2 and 5 were a LONG time ago and I havent seen a Gracie do anything in the ring since HEnzo/Sakuraba. I like Henzo btw...but Ralph Gracie, the chicken shit talker with his (I am a bad boy when Ive got 25 of my cousins around) image can go suck eggs!
Thats it for now.........maybe.....
The thing with the Gracies is: A lot of people with the last name 'Gracie' promote himself a lot because of it, but the part of the family that really put the Gracies into map are just a few ones...
I dont know how much of history do you guys know, but some kinds of 'MMA' shows (or vale tudo as we know here) exists here in Brazil since the 60īs...The Gracie family started this and for more than 30 years i think before the UFC even existed, they were winning MMA fights around all Brazil (and UFC itself was created by Rorion Gracie, in case anyone dont know).
I know UFC 1 was a long time ago, and the event itself changed a lot. That time, very few fighters knew standup and ground game at the same time...It was really a battle of styles going on. Not too much 'professional' to see, but really very entertainment. Today, everyone knows everything , including BRAZILIAN Jiu Jitsu (and dont forget, if you guys are learning BRAZILIAN Jiu Jitsu even on Africa for example, thats because of the Gracies...)
Rickson stoped to fight because he had a very good reason...plus, he is old now...The New generation of gracies is represented only by Roger Gracie by now...All the other ones are in their 35 + i think...And even if they are all excelent in Jiu Jitsu, it doesnt mean they are good at MMA matches, thats why you dont see every Gracie fighting everytime (a obvious thing)
Remember, they may be shit talking...but during all the 90īs, you didnt see anyone standing in front of the majority of them, and winning a fight...Some of them might be arrogant, but at least, they fought to win that right
