Transformers the Movie
« on: May 31, 2007, 02:38:32 PM »
OK, I've been a fan since my childhood years. Is anyone going to see it regardless if Michael Bay screwed up a few of the Autobots & Decepticons. I'm kind of pissed off at the fact that Megatron looks like a freakin alien and that Starscream & Bumblebee look like something of a few insects as well. Regardless, it looks kickass.

Personally I think they made them to involved. You can't tell what the fuck you're looking at. I guess though it makes sense they need to be that complicated looking if they can shift into whatever they want.

Yeah, I'm gonna watch it regardless. I'm totally with you about how the Autobots and Decepticons look. Very disappointing.  :-[

Very true, you can barely make any of them out! Are they going to stay true with the character's personalities? for example Starscream (if he is in it) will he be undermining of Megatron and cowardly? If the personalities of the autobots/decepticons are not portrayed then most of us who grew uo with watching them will not really be able to relate, they will simply be big robots. Most of the characters will not be in their original forms from what i hear, Bumblebee for example isnt a VW Bug.

why couldnt it? theyre basing it off of the cartoon correct?

the HE-MAN comparison is not a good one being that many big screen adaptations from cartoon/comics at that time  were completely silly and did them no justice.
Now however its a different story, directors and producers know how important it is keep the movie version as true to the original as possible for the fans. the producers are always looking to make money on sequels and w/out a decent first, there will be no second, translation less money.
also a new HE-MAN is in the works and is said to be similar in style to The Lord of the Rings trilogy.
and back to the transformers, i have to question anything that has Tyrese as a lead character..so you may be correct ???

It was okay.. They showcased the autobot personalities, but didn't do the same for the decepticons. Starscream didn't get enough screen play.  :-\

It was okay, but I thought they could have done a better job.

I haven't seen it, but I just watched , "Transformers: The Movie", the cartoon. Hopefully when I see "Transformers" I won't be disappointed.

If they make a He-man movie, it will suck ass, unless they get Gunter to play He-man, and have him constantly smile, do that stupid throw-back-the- head laugh that He-man did.
