Want to see him do that raw without lifting shirt... I consider that damn shirt cheating don't give a shit what you say, if you cannot lift it without help you ain't supposed to lifted it in the first place.

Ok; after further review... I'm out of the loop, my last competition was USPF, circa 1994. Help me out with these issues:

1  Is he wearing elbow wraps?
2  Dude didn't lockout, is that currently OK?
3  He took the lift-off to 3/4 lockout, is that the current standard mo?
4  That's a big motherfcuker  :o

WPO is bullshit. In the IPF the rules are start at full lockout, end at full lockout, head cant come off the bench, your whole butt has to be on the bench, single ply, closed back shirts. We are still seeing 700+ benches and they are legit reps.

people flame on Gene but you have to have balls to get under weight like that and you have to be ungodly strong to move it by yourself locked out or not, the dude gets my respect.

Those guys have like 15 shirts on. This is not bench pressing.

Sorry, i'm not a powerlifter. I would bench 40 pounds if it would work for my body. I never go higher then 225 for reps.
But i do laugh at those clowns that have no range of motion and think they are strong. This is like doing quarter quarter squats

"reps" obviously meaning "two shaky reps with help from your friend". you're right, you're a goliath. i'll be sure to shoot gene an email and let him know that you know how to lift right. ::)

A powerlifter wearing a bench shirt is like a high jumper wearing spring loaded shoes.  Whats the fucking point?   I'd also like to see how much he can do without the shirt.

forget the press, holding that much weight up above you is a feat itself.

Ok as the biggest bencher on here raw and shirted I can debate this all day long. But it would be useless, people have there opinion on gear and they are entitled to it. BUT for all you guys bashing him like Squadfather said crawl under it and see if you could just HOLD IT!!!

And for the ones bashing us for being Fat who the Fuck cares we are powerlifters not pretty boys. I have gotten my bodyweight issue under control but I will never ever be as lean as a Bodybuilder it is not what we do!!! We bench with shirts, we bench without shirts and everything in between. We dont care what others think about our gear we train our asses off day in and day out.

For those of you who dont think we are strong Raw I myself have done 500 for 10, 405 for 22, and 315 for 37, and 225 for 60 and was still going strong.  And yes my range of motion is more then 10 inches!!!!

that wasn't a bad rom at all and over a ton, WTF?

anyone not impressed by that lift needs to get a clue about lifting weights heavier than their limp dicks. ;)

Yeah I'll give it to him on that one. You've got to be a bear of a man to even move that shit let alone touch bottom, pause, and get it back up.
