Ideal Pro Show??
First and foremost ..... Location, location, location. To me Las Vegas is ideal due to its close promixity to most major metropolitan cities and the variety of night life before and after the event.
The venue within LV is not too important but it would be best if the EXPO could be held within the same vicinity as the contest prejudging and finals. And within the same room/auditorium if at all possible so that the fans could visit the exhibitor booths during a "lull" in the prejudging and/or the finals. I guess that the ticket prices would have to be ajusted for this "combination".
Needless to say, the contestants would be the major draw. Without them a contest is nothing at all.
And it could be a great idea if there was some way in which the "fans" could stand side by side on stage with a couple of the top pros and pose-down for a couple of minutes just as if they were actually competing. Keith did this in Hawaii once and it brought down the house.
And the Colorado Pro show which offered an auto or a motorcycle is one great idea too.
And a couple of amateur contests at the Expo would add to the overall event.
Last but not least, spread the event out so that no one event lasts any longer than three hours each. No special guests, no honorariums, no political figures, no movie stars.
Keep it Simple, Stupid .... KISS is a major part in planning.
