Akon Investigated Over Fan-Tossing Allegations

AkonR&B star Akon is under investigation by New York authorities after footage emerged of him tossing a young fan into the crowd at a gig. The Smack That singer is seen throwing the audience member into the crowd during a concert at radio station WSPK's KFEST in Fishkill, New York, after an object was hurled at him during his set.

Security guards pulled the alleged offender from the crowd after the initial incident, and directed to Akon, who then threw him back into the audience.

Detective Lieutenant John Berlingieri of Fishkill Police has revealed officers are attempting to track down the human missile.

He says, "We're trying to identify that kid, just to find out whether or not we have any kind of criminal offense. We are looking to speak to him. No victim. No crime." It is not the first time Akon's live shows have caused controversy - last month the star was forced to issue an apology to the people of Trinidad for dancing in a raunchy manner with a 14-year-old girl during a gig in April, after the country's Prime Minister launched an investigation into the incident.

Timbaland Embroiled In Bar Brawl

TimbalandSuperproducer Timbaland spent an hour behind bars in Germany early this morning after a violent bar brawl. The music mogul was temporarily held in custody in Cologne after a fight in the city left a 29-year-old Croatian man in the hospital with injuries to his rib cage and multiple bruises.

Cologne police spokesperson Juergen Goebel says eye witnesses confirmed a heated argument between Timbaland - real name Timothy Mosley - and an unidentified man in the bar of the Intercontinental Hotel at 11:30 pm last night.

The pair took their argument outside where it allegedly escalated into violence, with members of Timbaland's entourage also reportedly joining in the brawl.

Sources claim the fight began when Timbaland began flirting with the man's girlfriend. In an ensuing war of words, it is believed the producer took offense to a racial slur.

According to Goebel, Timbaland was questioned and held in custody for approximately one hour. He was later released.

Fabolous' Illegal Weapons Charge Is Dismissed

FabolousRapper Fabolous will not face trial on an illegal weapons trial after a New York judge dismissed the case yesterday. The rap star, real name John Jackson, spent a night in jail last October following a shoot-out at mogul Diddy's Manhattan restaurant Justin's, during which he was wounded.

However prosecutors failed to prove that Fabolous was among the owners of two loaded handguns found in a car that was searched shortly after the incident, while the rapper was being treated in hospital for a gunshot wound.

His lawyer, Alberto Ebanks, says, "He should never have been here in the first place. There were four guys in the car. My client jumped in the back seat of the car after he was shot. It was not the car he came to the club in."

Rapper 50 Cent will not have to testify at NBA star Allen Iverson's assault trial this month, a federal judge ruled Friday.

The lawsuit stems from a fight between members of Iverson's security detail and patrons at a downtown Washington bar in 2005. Two customers sued, accusing Iverson of hitting one of them with a bottle and charging the entourage with assault, conspiracy and other charges.

One of the rap industry's most lucrative entertainers, 50 Cent - whose real name is Curtis Jackson III - was not involved in the fight. But lawyers for the customers said the rapper knew some of Iverson's security detail and could testify at trial about their behavior.

''They worked together on previous occasions,'' attorney Gregory L. Lattimer said Friday.

Jackson argued that since he was not involved in the fight and is not named in the lawsuit, he could not be forced to travel from his home in Connecticut to testify at trial, which begins June 27. He lives in a Hartford suburb in a 52-room mansion once owned by boxer Mike Tyson.

A federal judge agreed with Jackson, saying she did not have jurisdiction because he lived more than 100 miles from the court.

The customers are demanding more than $5 million from the security guards and Iverson, a Denver Nuggets guard and a former college star at Georgetown University.

Troubled rapper Foxy Brown has been given some much needed good news - her probation report has been restored to good standing. The rapper was sentenced to three years probation in 2004 after she attacked two manicurists in a New York nail salon.

But Brown, real name Inga Marchand, has passed required drug tests and attended all court-mandated anger management classes and she was praised yesterday by Manhattan Criminal Court Judge Melissa Jackson.

Jackson said, "I see a positive probation report here. It was a real struggle to get you onboard. I want to see you finish this sentence and go on to a happy life."

Flavor Flav Fumes Over 14 Year Old Shooting Case

Flavor FlavFlavor Flav is planning to appeal a New York judge's decision to order the Public Enemy rapper to pay $1.8 million to his former neighbor, who he allegedly shot at 14 years ago. Judge Dianne Renwick ruled the hip-hop star, real name William Drayton, should pay the sum to Thelouizs English, who lived in the rapper's apartment block Executive Towers in the Bronx in 1993.

Drayton was sentenced to two months in jail and three years of probation after he was convicted in 1995 of criminal possession of a weapon.

English later filed an assault and battery civil suit against the rapper. A default judgement of $850,000 was issued against Drayton 10 years ago.

Judge Renwick issued the ruling after English's lawyers claimed the amount had risen to $1.8 million through interest over the last 10 years, although the rapper believes it should be $1.4 million.

Drayton's lawyer Charles Johnson argued Judge Renwick has a conflict of interest, because she is married to the Bronx District Attorney Robert Johnson who failed in his attempt to convict the musician of the shooting.

Charles Johnson tells the New York Post, "Her actions were retaliatory because her husband lost a series of cases to Flav."

Ludacris' manager Chaka Zulu has spoken out after he was reportedly attacked by rapper T.I. T.I. - real name Clifford Harris - was attending a luncheon in California on Sunday when he got into a argument with Zulu - which allegedly ended with the rapper punching the music mogul.

However, Zulu says the incident ruined a night which was meant to promote the charitable nature of musicians. He tells Allhiphop.com, "It's a shame that things like this continue to happen especially with the backdrop of an event that was about benevolence and charitable works. I'm thankful that all issues have been resolved."

The altercation follows a three-year feud with chart rival Ludacris. The pair fell out in 2004 after T.I. took offense to a scene in one of Ludacris' music videos, in which a man wearing a top similar to that of the rapper's Trap Muzik record label is seen getting beaten up.

Raunchy rapper Foxy Brown angered probation officials on Tuesday after turning up four hours late for her appointment - only five days after missing a previous meeting. The Get Me Home hitmaker, 27, was originally set to meet with officers on Friday - a week after a New York City judge restored her probation report to good standing.

The hip-hop star, real name Inga Marchand, was sentenced to three years probation in October after she attacked two manicurists in a New York nail salon in 2004.

After Marchand failed to appear at the Department of Probation in New York on Friday, an official place a failure-to-report notice on the door of her Brooklyn home.

Marchand finally turned up on Tuesday, four hours late for a rescheduled appointment and entered the Department offices through an employee entrance, the New York Post reports.

Rapper Foxy Brown has continued to deny she was a mugging victim recently, despite admitting she has had her stolen items returned to her. Police claim Brown - real name Inga Marchand - was mugged by four thieves in the early hours of Saturday morning, losing $500, credit cards and a Louis Vuitton bag.

However, Brown denied the incident at the time, saying, "A lot of the time, people mistake me for someone else, or people always call in these false tips." But Brown's manager Chaz Williams confirms the singer was spoken to by police and that the stolen items were eventually returned to the rap star.

He tells AllHipHop.com, "As soon as I heard she was at the police station, I immediately went there and stopped the interview and she immediately stopped cooperating with their questioning. We called the lawyers and I got her the f#*k out of there. Two hours after I got her home, we had all her property back. Foxy ain't going to no courthouse. Her bag was missing and we got it back. Getting her s*#t back was elementary."

A woman charged with assaulting and robbing Foxy Brown was released from jail after the rapper failed to appear before a grand jury to testify against her.

Roshawn Anthony, 23, was released from Riker's Island on her own recognizance Thursday but still faces charges of robbery, assault and grand larceny in the alleged attack last Saturday, according to a spokesman for the Brooklyn district attorney's office. She has denied the charges.

Police say Anthony and three other people teamed up to rob Brown of a Louis Vuitton bag, $500 in cash and credit cards in the East New York section of Brooklyn.

The 27-year-old rapper, whose real name is Inga Marchand, is no stranger to violence. She pleaded guilty last year to misdemeanor assault charges stemming from a fight with salon workers over payment for a manicure in Manhattan's Chelsea neighborhood. Brown is on probation in that case.

She is also facing a battery charge in another incident earlier this year. Police allege she threw hair glue at a beauty shop employee in Florida when he asked her to leave because the shop was closing.

Anthony is scheduled to return to court Aug. 9.

Rapper Remy Ma Sought For Questioning After Her SUV Is Found Near NYC Shooting Site

Remy MaNEW YORK (AP) - Grammy-nominated rapper Remy Ma was sought for questioning Saturday after an early morning shooting outside a trendy Manhattan nightspot, police said.

Officers investigating a report of gunfire found a woman who had been shot in the lower torso.

Police did not identify any suspects in the shooting, which followed the escalation of a verbal dispute as a group of people left a bar in the Meatpacking District. The shooter was a woman in her 20s who fled the scene, officers said.

Three blocks away, officers discovered a luxury SUV owned by Remy Ma, 26, that had been involved in a single-car crash and abandoned. She was being sought for questioning, according to a police statement.

Sasha Tcherekoff, owner of the Pizza Bar, said a review of security videotape taken inside his nightspot showed the rapper and her friends having a good time before they left.

''The police have indicated to us that the altercation happened a block away,'' he said.

The 23-year-old victim, whose identity was withheld, was in stable condition at a hospital.

Remy Ma - her real name is Remy Smith - was nominated for a Grammy as part of the Terror Squad for the 2004 summer smash ''Lean Back.'' She also earned the Best Female Hip Hop award at the 2005 BET Awards. She went on to a solo career, releasing last year's ''There's Something About Remy.'' She has performed on recordings with best-selling performers including Fat Joe, Eminem and R. Kelly, according to her Web site.

There was no immediate response Saturday to an e-mail seeking comment from the rapper's publicist.

Hip-hop mogul Sean 'Diddy' Combs is celebrating after a lawsuit accusing him of assault was dropped due to "insufficient evidence." The rapper was alleged to have lost his temper with Gerald Rechnitzer at a post-Oscars party at Hollywood's Roosevelt Hotel in February, when Combs was confronted for flirting with the clubber's fiancee.

In court documents, Rechnitzer claims Combs shouted, "What the f&%# (are) you looking at, dude?" before threatening to "smack flames out of your ass."

The 27-year-old accused the Last Night hitmaker of "intentionally, willfully, knowingly and unlawfully attacking, assaulting and battering" him at the party and filed the suit in March, seeking compensatory and punitive damages.

But, according to the New York Post, the court case has fallen through, with a spokesman simply stating, "There was insufficient evidence."

Combs has always denied the allegations, branding them "fabricated" and a "flat-out lie".

His lawyer Benjamin Brafman adds, "People who are superstars are always vulnerable to these allegations."
