Wow! I just heard Canada's Green party just proposed a 12 cents/litre increase in gas prices as a carbon tax to get people to drive less. The automobile is the biggest single contribution most people make to pollution, ...but charging a 12 cent/ltr gas tax? ...like they're not high enough?
Their motives are in the right place, ...but their methods leave a lot to be desired.
Rather than tax people, why not take pro-active steps to reduce pollution.
