Holy hell is it hot down here. I saw the craziest $hit yesterday when we got off of the boat after swimming with sharks. There was this young domincan kid about 17-18tops. No lie he was benching from a makeshift weight bench. The barbell was a straight bar with two 12 inch diameter coffee cans about 12 inches deep filled with concrete. To make it even crazier hanging from each of those was a truck tire. The weight was approx 300lbs. (and yes I tried it) This kid repped it out s l o w, plus it about 97degrees outside and the humidty was crazy(I will never take my local powerhouse for granted again). I had a brief conversation with the kid, he said that he had never touched a steroid. He told me he is trying to save up money to move to FL or NY, so he can train in a real gym(the only ones here are at the resorts and they can not use them) He had probable one of the best builds I have ever seen on a natty and looks to be about 2weeks out. He could have only been about 180 max but he was sitting there christmas tree and all. Blew me away.
The people here are really nice and see only a few bodybuilders. A young domincan kid asked me if I was a Wrestler from america. I should have some beautiful pictures of this place women included when I get back stateside. I took at least 25 pictures with the local women who are very beautiful light brown skin with piercing blue eyes WOW!!!!!!!!!!(being 240 separates you from the rest of the fatbodies).
On a different note it saddend me to see that almost everone from the US and Europe are FAT. I guess as a gym rat you are used to seeing people who work out. I have never seen so many fatties in speedo's in my life. It really is a shame because everyone here is fit, not huge but fit. These people I am sure are laughing at us about all of the stuff we take for granted, the food we order from roomservice and throw away etc.
So I will conclude that we should all make it our goals to get in shape, whatever that meens to you whether it be to get huge or lean but do something. Because there are kids here who are a lot less fortunate and are hungry.
Sorry for the long post, just sharing my experience. I am off to go para sailing.
