Sorry to tell you but this same kind of indifference to animals goes on in factory farms all across the world, to more highly evolved creatures. There you will find the same idiot minimum wage red necks getting sadistic pleasure out of hurting confined animals. Hunters on game ranches are pretty much the same.
There is some statistic that says if every American ate 10 percent less meat we could feed all the starving people in the world with the excess grain that would have normally been fed to the animals. There would be less water pollution too and less deforestation. Its worth considering.
There is a thing called humane certified beef. Its not at many places yet, Chipolte grill is one, but if people dont care it wont get popular.
