Media trend: World Chaotic Collapse/Melt-down
« on: June 10, 2007, 11:11:29 AM »
Why are all these media outlets airing special documentaries on all possible scenarios to bring the entire world to a chaotic and catastrophic collapse?

It's almost as like they (media) are plotting to collapse the world...

Because it sells better than making positive documentaries.  :D

Because there's too much air time, and not enough real news available to fill it.

The 24-hour news cycle is a major contributor to the bullshit world we live in today.  In an effort to fill air time reporters latch onto any crap angle they can think of (ephedrine, steroids, the dangers of protein consumption, there's a terrorist behind every corner, whatever), beat the drum loud enough and often enough that low-IQ soccer moms believe it as gospel, and next thing you know the brainless fools in congress are passing another law we have to deal with.

I honestly think we'd be better off in the media were only allowed 1/2 hour of news a day, the way it used to be.  That way you wouldn't have reporters falling all over each other trying to fabricate crap to air.

Bottom line, scare tactics work!  They get ratings!!  I'm not sure what the fascination is, but it's always all over the news and we eat it up....the next war, the next "end of the world" theory, the next SARS, West nile, ELEVATED TERROR ALERT etc. etc. etc.

One man got on a plane with TB...CNN does this huge story on the dangers of TB and how we're all in danger blah blah blah  ::)  Yes, oh dear, we're all going to die  ;)
just not good enough
