Dorian definitely had an impressive physique but it was in no way pleasing to the eye.  To me, having a waist as big as Dorian's ruins everything.  To me, the waist IS bodybuilding.

Put another way = standing relaxed means everything to me in bodybuilding.  Dorian just looks like a block when he is.  Compare him to Frank McGrath or Bob Paris.

That's just my opinion.  I'm not saying that is how competitive bodybuilding should be judged.

Damn that was '96, far from Ronnie's prime and hes owning Dorian pretty bad there.  Ron's waist looked damn  good back then too.

Joel Stubbs has a better back than Ronnie and Dorian(yeah i said it), but he lacks a little conditioning,matter of fact, that rest of his body is mediocre, only his back is one of the greatest ever.

when dorian and ronnie actually competed on stage it wasn't even close and the judges, who had the best seats in the house, knew this too well. ;)

ronnie did develop and improve a great deal after that (as dorian had throughout his career) and i'm loathe to compare best on best.

dorian had a white guy's waist, simple as that. it was never tiny to begin with. adding the amount of muscle that he did throughout the years was bound to take it's toll on his waist, as it has ronnie's btw.

Nah, Yates' wasn't anywhere near the widest. The thoughts of a Yates groupie-look carefully before you start again with the nonsense. Coleman much wider AND smaller waist = far better taper, on about the same sized frame.. Yates' thing was density and dryness coupled with very good size, which you don't seem to comprehend so i'm telling you.

you're kidding right?

dorian's back was like a road map and was thicker and denser than any i have ever seen. every muscle in that man's back took on it's own life form. if you compare ronnie's back to dorian's in the above photos, just take a look at the individual muscles of the back and compare them. not even close.

all ronnie had in those photos was taper. sorry, but that doesn't win you a bbing contest.
