UFC 73 Stacked card confirmed
« on: June 15, 2007, 07:51:42 PM »
Nate Marquardt Vs. Anderson Silva 185lb championship

Hermes Franca Vs. Sean Sherk 155lb champinship

Rashad Evans Vs. Tito Ortiz
Alvin Robinson Vs. Kenny Florian
Heath Herring Vs. Minotauro Nogueira
Mike Nickels Vs. Stephan Bonnar
Diego Saraiva Vs. Jorge Gurgel
Drew Fickett Vs. Chris Lytle
Mark Bocek Vs. Frank Edgar

This card looks pretty good, it's good to see Frank Edgar back, and Lytle/Fickett should be interesting.  All of the televised fights look pretty good, although I would rather see Lytle/Fickett or Edgar/Bocek than Florian any day.

 40/61

Herring V Big Nog...they had a classic years ago in Pride!  In fact, I don't think it was long after that Heath lost to Fedor and shortly thereafter left Pride.

Let's see what Nog can do when they stand you up every two minutes.

Dammit I miss Pride................... .......... :-\

It looks like a pretty strong PPV card to me.... I think there are some interesting matchups. Real interested in seeing the Nog fight. I want to see how he adapts to the rule changes.

hahaha, 2 title fights and other good non-title fights aren't enough to warrant it being a PPV card?  ::)

I'LL JUST GET TO THE POINT AND GO TO THE TITO FIGHT IF HE LOSES HE'LL BE KNOCKED DOWN IN THE RANKS. AND TO BE HONEST HE MAY HAVE A HARD TIME BECAUSE H ELIKES TO SHOOT AND PRETTY MUCH WRESTLE. AND RASHAD IS A WRESTLER ALSO ITS FUNNY BECAUSE I KNOW RASHAD TRAINED AT CROWN BOXING GYM ALL I KNEW THYE DID BOXING THERE. IF I WOULD OF KNOWN THEY DID MMA TRAINING I WOULD OF WEN'T THERE WHEN I LIVED THERE.

Rashad is definitely a game opponent, his wrestling is better than Tito's and he has decent hands.  He has done nothing but get better since hooking up with Jacksons submission fighting.  I actually got to meet Rashad and spoke with him a bit at UFC Shootout a while back, he's a pretty cool dude, I also saw him and Tito almost get into a fist fight in the crowd.  Tito on the other hand has the strength advantage, sick cardio, his defense from strikes is pretty tight, and he has the experience edge.
This is a must win for Tito, so I think he will be his usual cautious self (lay n pray, stand n pray).  Tito by Decision, Although I wouldn't mind seeing Rashad KO Tito.
