Sergio 84
Thats always been a interesting picture for a number of reasons the main one being (and Ive argued this point for years) SERGIO had a fantastic BACK when he FINALLY LEARNT to hit the BDB properly...by that i mean look @ most (if not all) his pre 1975 on down pics...Sergio always hit the BDB going for maximum V taper as in NOT CONTRACTING the actual back muscles...hes pushing his shoulders out hard witch given his naturally small hips and waist gives that very Dramatic highly sought after ironage ideal of a amazing V TAPER...however in pushing your shoulders out hard (i don,t care who you are try it sometime) and not concentrating on actual back CONTRACTION, your back will as a general rule of thumb look so-so...hit the BDB again and NOT concentrate on pushing your shoulders out and actually contract your back muscles hard...Different look isn,t it....take a look at (most not all) Sergio's BDB poses after 1975 (especially 1980-1984 when past his physical prime) Sergio low and behold has learnt to Contract his back muscles properly showing he actually had a great, thick, somewhat detailed back even past his best competitive years.

If you knew they first thing about competitive bodybuilding and how it's judged calves are just as important as biceps in the rear double biceps shot it's not all about ' show muscles ' we can harp on everyone's back double biceps shot and find a flaw but overall from head to toe Haney & Yates have among the best back double biceps shots in bodybuilding and I didn't even post a yates shot yet

this my ignorant little friend is an outstanding back double bicep even if bias prevents you from seeing so  ;) and keep typing my name  :D

Zane
Outstanding shot of Franks back, in my view Frank had extra ordinary traps when viewed from the back, one of the few with several splits running though the upper traps & combined with the ripped delts it gives a awesome look . :o :o :o

Thank god we have a guru here, who brings up calves to defend double-bi shots LOL.

But thanks for the opportunity to compare mediocrity with greatness you're always good for a laugh o clueless one  ;D

Yeah because it's not like calves matter  ::) again mr ignorant calves matter just as much as biceps , just because you're willing to overlook them the judges aren't

Back Double Biceps (see Figure 4)
Standing with his back to the judges, the competitor will
bend the arms and wrists as in the Front Double Biceps
pose, and will place one foot back, resting on the toes.
He will then contract the arm muscles as well as the
muscles of the shoulders, upper and lower back, thigh
and calf muscles.

The judge will first survey the arm muscles and then do
the head-to-foot survey, during which there are more
muscle groups to look at than in all of the other poses.
This includes the neck, deltoids, biceps, triceps, forearm,
trapezius, teres, infraspinatus, erector spinae, external
obliques, latissimus dorsi, gluteus, thigh biceps, and
calves. This pose, probably more than the others, will
help the judge to determine the quality of the
competitor’s muscle density, definition, and overall
balance.

That's the criteria for the back double biceps , notice they mention the word calves ( calf ) more than once  ;)

Another great Zane shot
Unbelievable :o :o :o take into consideration the pictures taken in natural sunlight makes it more so.
Looks to be the same photo shot as the below shot of Sergio, the 2 of them were in incredible shape that day.

Yip thats right ND you don,t see many twisting pose's from many big guys these days i wonder why ;D ;D ;D (come to think of it since the early 1990s) Lee Haney managed to pull off alot of these pose's well with his great V Taper, small hips etc, Both Sergio and Arnold although Massive, both had flat, somewhat detailed waists, and Arnold was the Master at hitting all the right angle's ;D when it came to twisting pose's, where Sergio with his Genetically small hips and waist coupled with outrageous delt and arm size was a sight to behold even though he didn't hit the pose's correctly alot of the time.

Beckles awesome back double biceps
Great picture Incredible detail on Beckles, i recall watching the 1985 Olympia on VHS in the late 1980s where Beckles placed second to Lee, his back was extraordinary, especially when you take into account beckles age @ the time.
