In a pilot project in Toronto, speeders pulled over in a school zone have been given a choice:
They can incur a ticket, ...or they can incur a lecture by a 10 year old.
None of the drivers opted for the ticket. They all chose the lecture, and they had to listen to a grade 5 student discuss the impact that speeders in the school zone had on their lives. I was watching this thing and cracking up. Afterwards, the drivers interviewed felt the lecture was a far more effective deterrent to speeding than the ticket would have been. Having watched them in action, ...I had to agree.
