Robert De Niro Knocked Out A KGB Agent
« on: June 21, 2007, 11:51:34 AM »
Robert De Niro shocked a KGB agent by challenging him to a boxing match - and knocking the spy out in just three rounds. The actor, who played a fighter in the 1980 movie Raging Bull, met with a group of Russian agents while researching for spy film The Good Shepherd. And they were eager to see if his boxing skills were real or just movie magic.

Former CIA agent Milt Bearden, who acted as a consultant on the spy movie, recalls, "One of the KGB guys asked Bob (Robert) if he could still box, and would he want to step in the ring. Bob agreed. And one of the other agents asked me 'What do I think would happen?' And I said that Bob would have the guy down by three (rounds), and that's what happened."

Well Jake LaMotta did train DeNiro himself for the movie and said he could have a boxing career if he pursued it.
