Report: Lakers, Wolves Talking Garnett to L.A.
Posted Jun 25th 2007 4:16PM by Tom Ziller
Filed under: Pacers, Timberwolves, Lakers, Eastern, Western, NBA Rumors, Breaking News

Draft Week is off to a thrilling start: The Lakers and Timberwolves are discussing a multiple-team deal which would send Kevin Garnett to join Kobe Bryant in Los Angeles, according to Mike Bresnahan of the Los Angeles Times.
A multi-team trade discussion is underway involving the Lakers, Indiana, Minnesota and possibly a fourth team, with the Lakers getting Garnett and the Pacers getting Lamar Odom and teenage center Andrew Bynum from the Lakers. Another minor player will likely be added to make the deal work financially.

Giving up Odom, who's going to be the 3rd option?  There are no other scorers and NO shooters on the team.

And without a point guard who can defend Nash or Parker, this team goes nowhere.

if you had garnett and bryant on the same team, you wouldn't need anybody to guard Nash or Parker.

trade kobe for a barnload of talent, and let odom and bynam lead them.

they're going to do "good" for 3 years.  Then they're going to suck for 6.  Nice big contracts and bigger aging egos.

Phoenix should pay less, get KG to stand next to stoudamire, and win 2 rings.

Fuck the Lakers.  Them, along with the Celtics and Bulls.  I could give a half shit if either one of those teams ever won anything again.  They've had enough success. Let's keep basketball interesting.

I say a sign and trade with Oberto for Kobe straight up for the spurs. Maybe a package deal of Beno Udrih and Oberto for Kobe and Odom.

Watch those rings pile up!

You're right.

yes.  and IMO, phoenix doesn't need another guard.  They need another threat down low with amare.  they lsoe every year because they can't play defense.  KG will take away duncan for the most part, and amare can play PF and feed the guards all day when he'd doubled.  Who can stop phoenix with ttwo good big men?

fans outside the great metropolis of SA already refer to the Spurs' reign as basketball's "Dark Ages" . . . hopefully, these trying times will end soon, and quickly fade into oblivion

no shit.  i see them doing it another 5 years, as boring and depressing as it is to watch.  Strong base, and they can replace a key part should one go down/get old and depreciate quickly.  parker= 2 or 3 more rings.

I don't see anything boring about Parker and Manu. This team played in the 100's most of the playoffs.

Boring to me is the east. If Dallas wouldn't have flamed out, I doubt anybody would have thought a Spurs/Mavs Western Conference Finals as boring.

oh dear god.

everything on this planet cycles through booms and busts.  right now the NBA's in the bust phase, but all it takes is one smart trade, and we will be back to boomtime.
