I saw a show on the inner city subject of "snitchin". I mean nobody likes a tattle tale, but this attitude has gone too far. It seems there are plenty of cases where even murders are not reported. Hmmm, oh well, if you don't report the thugs and criminals, guess who makes the law.
I can only assume the "stop snitchin" idea was started and enforced by the thugs annd criminals that don't want to deal with the law.

It's not just inner city kids... Cops have that same mentallity... Rarely will a cop snitch on another cop..

This is why neighborhoods like these continue to decline.  It doesn't seem all that wise to give your allegiances to people who don't give two shits about you.  Then turn around and whine about how the cops don't protect you from crime.

I agree with this in part.  But the problem is that if you have a drug dealer who is dealing drugs to a person this is considered a victimless crime.  I believe that drugs should be legal as this is a democracy.  Unfortunately what happens is that drug dealers use violence to maintain their dominance on the drug trade, violence that ultimately spills over into the community.  There is an argument if these activities where legal and regulated we might not have the violence that accompanies them.

You are 100% correct.  Just a point though, not all drug dealers resort to violence.  But the ones who do, I have no problem with them being snitched on.

Alcohol is legal and we deal with it.. Hell, it's even a part of most cultures.

Most drug dealers are business merchants - supplying a product in demand. Nothing wrong with that imo. Of course the violent ones are pretty bad and should be ratted on.

Of course, the socializing effects of alcohol cannot be denied either, but the damaging effects are bigger IMO.

Seriously though think about tobacco and alcohol that shit kills more people than anything else, Legal or otherwise put together.  Legalizing everything would just be alot better.  That way you can tax drugs and actually have the addicts pay for all the problems they cuase in society.  Plus think about when you were younger (under 21) the hardest thing for me to get was alcohol.  Though anything else yea how much you need.  We have the most people in prison in the country and alot of it is drug related.  Do I think someone needs to be in jail for selling something trying to make a buck.....fuck no.....  Plus total drug addicts are going to get shit weather its legal or not and for that matter so are recreational users.....so why the big deal???
