i don't agree at all. don't want to upset the grimmek fans but that shot has no inspirational value whatsoever imo.

grimek was  the best for his times, you have to remember he was an all-arounder excelling at olympic weightlifting, hand balancing, and gymnastics as well as bodybuilding. how many modern bbers could do a flag, compete in the nationals for weightlifting and win boodybuilding contest in a short period of time. jcg maintained his shape into his 70's again quite an accomplishment.

mmmhmm :-\. maybe if you had pics of rachel mcclish or anja langer doing all those stretches in their underwear i might feel more inspired. :)

seriously, i do appreciate all your pics funk. very cool 8)

reeves looks more...natural in the above pic than later ones i've seen of him.

don't want to sound cynical but grimek has far more dense muscle than reeves there. maybe grimek had better 'knowledge' about muscle building.

A flag? I saw Ronnie doing that...

But if you mean not just wearing the flag, I think Charles Glass was one of the last able to do such things.

I realize what you're saying, funk, those days you also had to lift weights in shows. He was probably great for the time, but to me Reeves was just so superior, its beyond comparison.
Then again, Reeves was a superior being...

I dont know, I just don't seem to appreciate his physique as much as others do.

That bottom Ironman cover, April 2006, must have been the best selling issue they ever had.

Very, artistic...

nice pics funk.

i always thought anja was stunning and she was very photogenic. she didn't go the silicone route (as far as i know) imo she had more star potential than anyone. i don't know how she ended up though (a bit of a flash in the pan) but i hope she didn't take too many hormones and ruin her beautiful features?

that phot shoot with young arnie and draper was recycled a few times in the weider mags but they were great shots (very inspirational) and it's good to see some again. those shots seemed to have more credibility and impact than the chris lund shots. ripped bodies all water sprayed and fake tanned pretending to strain with fake weights are about as inspirational to me as a whole in the head. :-\

Speaking of Chris Lund shots.... I HATE all the Super CloseUp muscle shots the Wielder mags
seemed in love with. I like workout photos that inspire.
Arnold, Dorian. Too bad there were not more of Yates. Kevin at his best..
I'd like to see more in Gym action shots of Dennis, and Marcus too. The clock is running on these
Big boys.
