Not death metal but AC/DC, Guns n' Roses and Velvet Revolver. Also try the Best of Iron Maiden.

Swedish melodic death metal.... In Flames, Arch Enemy, Soilwork:
In Flames song Dead End  http://youtube.com/watch?v=FFUDyrPhyMQ
Arch Enemy song Nemesis http://youtube.com/watch?v=n9AcG0glVu4
Soilwork song Observation Slave  http://youtube.com/watch?v=RUJ9-N923rs

Try Nightwish...very good (I dont really classify them as death metal but opera metal)
NightWish song End of All Hope  http://youtube.com/watch?v=mZ1GYVRMRCs

As for American...Killswitch Engage (I believe they started out as death metal), Atreyu (classified as EMO but I dont think they are..they make excellent music) , Fear Factory (try the albums Obsolete and Demanufacture ...listen to the track demanufacture), Trivium, As I Lay Dying

KillSwitch Engage song This is Absolution http://youtube.com/watch?v=Uvh1aPX75CE
Atreyu song You Eclipsed By Me  http://youtube.com/watch?v=tMatk5byF0c
Fear Factory song Demanufacture  http://youtube.com/watch?v=MJ6c68_j318
Trivium song Rain  http://youtube.com/watch?v=eIfhP8xleFE
As I Lay Dying song Through Struggle  http://youtube.com/watch?v=EdSj0hMtmNs

These bands will raise your aggression and intensity in the gym....
