One of my actor friends goes to Thailand every year. He stays for a month, and comes back with suitcases and barrels full of stuff, ...sells it all here in Canada, and makes enough money to cover his rent, food and regular bills, for the rest of the year. One year he bought an intricately carved sculture (an elephant I think), picked it up for about $30, sold it to one of those trendy Yorkville boutiques on consigment for $1,000. They sold it for $2400 on sale.
He's been doing that for years. He'll notify everyone when he's going, and will often start taking a list of orders. I can't tell you how many Fendi purses he's brought back. {lol}
