« on: July 03, 2007, 07:13:39 AM »
no doubt this guy looks great esp for a natty, but do you guys think he can bench 355lbs @ 160lbs?

i'd say around 295 tops.

Most likey, since it's not that much and he has good shoulders and tri's. LOts of small guys with good arms can bench up to a point. Same with small arm (length) guys. Though I bet in a shirt and tie you could not even tell he works out other then saying he might be a runner or swimmer.

He looks very short, a big bench is largely form and lots of practice.
Face it, most of the best benchers actually look like hell.
Possible, hell ya. Only 1 way to know.
Throw a big arch in his back and tuck the elbows and he'd have a real short ROM.
the 165lb class is way over 400.

lifting his hips off the bench with a wide grip, a liftoff, couple of fingers under the bar, uneven lockout maybe but what i don't believe is him repping 335 for 5-6 like he claims but hey anything's possible.

He looks very strong, with a great build for singles.
Prob is you lose your set up after 1 rep in power.
Cycle the back arch & the whole "Tight" package, and ya done.
Mulit reps at that weight take some mass. Pretty rare see a guy < 220lb pound out reps w/ 3 plates.

assuming that he probably doesn't do strict powerlifting form (hold at lockout before/after, full pause at the bottom)? sure, why not. dude's dense and has short limbs, touch and go with some bounce isn't at all out of the question.
