What's Your Funeral Song...
« on: July 10, 2007, 07:20:12 PM »
Went to Cosmo's forum... it's EXACTLY like this one...  It looks exactly like Getbig but pink, and they play word games... they're pretty good at it.

They did have a thread about dying and what song you would want at your funeral ...

I would want Fields of Gold... Eva Cassidy...

At my wake I would want this...

for my love I would leave this ...

or this...I always think of him this way :-)

Funeral song?!!!!
Once your dead the important part is gone!!!
Your just a piece or decomposing meat.
I told my wife to buy a hundred bucks worth of wood, dump my corpse on top and then torch the sucker!!!!!
Funerals are a waste of money for a person that is already GONE!

This song--

"How Deep the Father's Love"

&mode=related&search=

How deep the Father's love for us,
How vast beyond all measure
That He should give His only Son
To make a wretch His treasure

How great the pain of searing loss,
The Father turns His face away
As wounds which mar the chosen One,
Bring many sons to glory

Behold the Man upon a cross,
My sin upon His shoulders
Ashamed I hear my mocing voice,
Call out among the scoffers

It was my sin that helf Him there
Until it was accomplished
His dying breath has brought me life
I knoww that it is finished

I will not boast in anything
No gifts, no power, no wisdom
But I will boast inJesus Christ
His death and resurrection

Why should I gain from His reward?
I cannot give an answer
But this I know with all my heart
His wounds have paid my ransom

and 2 Creed songs ("Higher" and "Are you Ready?" ) have been agreed to be sung by a buddy of mine from highschool.

"Are you Ready?"

Hey, Mr. Seeker hold on to this advice
If you keep seeking you will find
Don't want to follow
Down roads been walked before
It's so hard to find unopened doors

Are you ready? Are you ready?
For whats to come...Oh I said Are you ready?
Are you Ready?...For whats to come

Hey, Mr. Hero Walking a thin, fine line
Under the microscope of life
Remember your roots, my friend
They're right down below
'Cause heroes come and heroes go

Are you ready? Are you ready?
For whats to come...Oh I said Are you ready?
Are you ready? For whats to come

Ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two, one
Count down to the change in life that's soon to come
Ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two, one
Count down to the change in life that's soon to come
Your life has just begun
Life has just begun
Life has just begun
Life has just begun

Are you ready? Are you ready?
For whats to come...Oh I said Are you ready?
Are you ready? For whats to come
Oh I said Are you ready?
Are you ready? For whats to come
Your Life has just begun
Life has just begun
Life has just begun

"Higher"

When dreaming I'm guided to another world
Time and time again
At sunrise I fight to stay asleep
'Cause I don't want to leave the comfort of this place
'Cause there's a hunger, a longing to escape
From the life I live when I'm awake
So let's go there
Let's make our escape
Come on, let's go there
Let's ask can we stay?

Can you take me Higher?
To a place where blind men see
Can you take me Higher?
To a place with golden streets

Although I would like our world to change
It helps me to appreciate
Those nights and those dreams
But, my friend, I'd sacrifice all those nights
If I could make the Earth and my dreams the same
The only difference is
To let love replace all our hate
So let's go there
Let's make our escape
Come on, let's go there
Let's ask can we stay?

Can you take me Higher?
To a place where blind men see
Can you take me Higher?
To a place with golden streets

So lets go there, lets go there,
Come on, lets go there
Lets ask can we stay?

Up high I feel like I'm alive for the very first time
Set up high I'm strong enough to take these dreams
And make them mine
Set up high I'm strong enough to take these dreams
And make them mine

Can you take me Higher?
To a place where blind men see
Can you take me Higher?
To a place with golden streets

Can you take me Higher?
To a place where blind men see
Can you take me Higher?
To a place with golden streets

I also want this one:

Softly and tenderly

Softly and tenderly Jesus is calling
Calling for you and for me
See on the portal he's waiting and watching
Watching for you and for me.

Come home, come home
Ye who are weary come home
Earnestly, tenderly Jesus is calling
Calling, oh sinner, come home.

(Why should we tarry when Jesus is pleading)
Pleading for you and for me
(Why should we linger and heed not his calling)
Calling for you and for me.

Come home, come home
Ye who are weary come home
Earnestly, tenderly Jesus is calling
Calling, oh sinner, come home...

Oh, and this one too:

"In Christ Alone"

In Christ alone my hope is found
He is my light, my strength, my song
This Cornerstone, this solid ground
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm
What heights of love, what depths of peace
When fears are stilled, when strivings cease
My Comforter, my All in All
Here in the love of Christ I stand

In Christ alone, who took on flesh
Fullness of God in helpless babe
This gift of love and righteousness
Scorned by the ones He came to save
'Till on that cross as Jesus died
The wrath of God was satisfied
For every sin on Him was laid
Here in the death of Christ I live

There in the ground His body lay
Light of the world by darkness slain
Then bursting forth in glorious Day
Up from the grave He rose again
And as He stands in victory
Sin's curse has lost it's grip on me
For I am His and He is mine
Brought with the precious blood of Christ

No guilt in life, no fear in death
This is the power of Christ in me
From life's first cry to final breath
Jesus commands my destiny
No power of hell, no scheme of man
Can ever pluck me from His hand
'Till He returns or calls me home
Here in the power of Christ I'll stand

do I have to move my post to the religion board now :(

This is what I want played... ;D

Lyrics for: My Ding-a-Ling

My Ding-A-Ling-A-Ling/ Chuck Berry 1972

When I was a little bitty boy
My grandma bought me a cute little toy
Two silver bells on a string
She told me it was my ding-a-ling-a-ling

My Ding-A-Ling My Ding-A-Ling, won't you play with My Ding-A-Ling?
My Ding-A-Ling My Ding-A-Ling, won't you play with My Ding-A-Ling?

When I was little boy in grammar school
Always went by the very best rule
But ever'time the bell would ring
You'd catch me playing with my ding-a-ling

Once while climbing the garden wall
Slipped and fell, had a very bad fall
I fell so hard I heard birds sing
But I held on to my ding-a-ling

Once while swimmin' 'cross Turtle Creek
Man them snappers right at my feet
Sure was hard swimmin' 'cross that thing
With both hands holding my ding-a-ling

Now this here song, it ain't so bad
Prettiest little song that you ever had
And those of you who will not sing
Must be playing with your own ding-a-ling

Our old neighbor owned an Anheuser(sp?)-Busch distributorship for years.  When you walked in the door at his visitation (at the funeral home) there was a keg and one of his family members pouring beer asking if you wanted to have a last beer w/"T.C."

I think the last time she wrote her will and I finally took the time to read the fucking thing, maybe 10 years ago, she wanted the 23rd pslam.
