Baseball Bat vs. Knife

I saw this topic on, ironically, a poker forum where I infrequently post. I thought it would be interesting to see what people, here, thought.

Assuming the combatants are clones of each other, who do you think would win? Lousiville Slugger or a Hunting Knife?

My initial reaction is to go with the bat, because of the superior range, but, on second thought, the knife might be able to duck or even absorb a shot, as long as it's not to the head. Afterwhich, the knife would be in range to do damage.

If I can only pick one: Bat.

as far as military combat is concern, I think the bat would be preferred as it has a definite reach advantage.

Use the bat to knock the knife out of the hand.  I would take the bat.  But, with the bat they could only get one or two good swings in and than they are sliced and diced.  It's a tough choice.  I'm glad I don't have to make it, I don't think.

If the fight stays on its feet that the bat wins no problem....If it goes to the ground then the knife for sure has the advantage

Knife can fight in largo e mano range as well as hubud range, so I like the knife.

the gun in its range is the ticket but it depends on who is swinging the bat and who has the knife.

bat, you miss you use your leg to kick them back into range, the bat can also be pushed forward to the face in a stabbing action to blind your opponent while you decapitate him
