  Good thing they don't tattoo the ears anymore.   8)

  Was the ink just there, or did it cause a problem?

   that reminds me....you said you had treated some grape toxicity cases, do you recall if the ingested amounts were large or small or both?

They were moderate----it really seems like it depends on the individual with quite a bit of variability even there.  I know reported toxic doses vary from 0.41 to 1.1 oz/kg.  The lowest recorded amounts that have caused acute renal failure was 0.7 oz/kg for grapes and 0.11 oz/kg for raisins. Even then it appears as if not every dog or cat is susceptible and some dogs can tolerate large quantities of grapes or raisins without developing any clinical signs at all.

  I bet you didn't do nothing.    ::)

   Since I would not be breeding, when I found a breeder who I wanted a puppy from, I would tell them they COULD NOT chip my puppy, I wouldn't care if it was reg'd or not, the UKC could piss off with it's money grubbing disregard for a person to make a health choice for themselves dumb ass rule making.

Yeah...i'm reall submissive when it comes to my goverment.... ::)

Of course you would say that to a breeder...you are Flower for godsake... :-\

We wanted to show our dogs so there wasn't any choice really..the numbers have to ad up from the chip and the pasport or you can't show your dog!
Oh and chipping isn't a big deal to me anyway so......

  Yes I would say that if I wasn't going to show.    ::)    That is a money maker for the UKC, and would of been for the AKC and people here didn't think that was right nor did they want to be told they had to put something in their dogs.

   I just feel it should be a choice.
