Gecko - Extreme Sports
« on: July 17, 2007, 10:22:43 AM »
So I'm driving home yesterday and a gecko decided to hitch a ride on the hood of my car.  It was raining.  Poor thing.  I almost wanted to pull over and pluck him off.  He was a gamer.  Battled the wind, rain, and heat from the hood for about five miles.  He finally took a flying leap to his death about halfway up the mountain.   :'(

Geckos are all over the place here.  They live inside and outside.  This is about the third or fourth time one has gotten caught on my car.

I almost did, but the conditions were too dangerous.  Everyone was driving about 45-55 mph, rain, not much of a lane to pull over, middle of rush hour traffic.

We have several different kinds.  I think the most prevalent is the "Common House Gecko."  I want to say probably half of houses on the island have a gecko or three that live in the house.  There are different ones that live outside.  Not sure what kind those are.

You'd never have to buy a gecko here.   :)
