If loosing fat, cardio can speed up the proces 2 or 3 times faster. I started doing the crosstrainer at home, and the waist size is actually getting 1 cm smaller every other day. When i didnt do cardio, the waistzise went 1 cm down a week. I keep the heart-rate at 140 a minute, to be in the optimal fatburning mode. I still eat sweet's, sugars, whole eggs, fat meat, and im still loosing fat fast. Do cardio my friend. im doing 1 hour a day, now im gona go for 90 minutes of cardio a day.

100 beats per minute is the best, u burn no muscle that way.

30 minute intervals throughout the day (so do 90 mins in three sessions).

u should only be eating whole eggs and fatty meats if u are on a NO-CARB diet.

u shouldnt be eating sweets and sugars at all.

100 beats is your heart rate approximately when you walk

i will compliment you on your improved looks, but at the end of the year, I will guess you've only put on about 2 lbs of muscle and lost a lot of fat.

that may not sound impressive.

and it isn't.

Hey ive eaten everything i want , and how much i want for the past 4 years, i didnt have the discipline, used to eat a chocolate-cake every other day before going to sleep. Never did cardio in my life till now, jsut didnt have the willpower. So if i lose the fat its very impressive for myself, personally.

100 rate a minute is too slow for me, thats no challange and it gets boring, i need to have a steady pace not too fast, not slow.

its called discipline buddy. i know it gets boring, but u get ripped and hold onto ALL of ur muscle.

especially if on low carbs ur body will burn even more muscle at higher rates.

outdated.  in line with the lighter weight, more reps = get cut theory.

D.L. 5 there are conflicting points of view on this to this date so, in essence, you are either right or wrong, depending on which theories you listen to. the research is too involved and too long to get into here. you can access it for yourself on one of the cardio threads (it's not secret knowledge).

imo you train your body as if it is a machine, the purpose of which, is to be whatever you want it to be ie marathon runner, sprinter, strong man, whatever and whatever you focus most of your energy on is what you will become and thus look like ie if you spend most of your energy doing lsd you will probably end up looking somewhat like a marathon runner and have less muscle tissue because if your body thinks that you are required to go go great distances it will not want excess muscle tissue because active muscle tissue requires energy which creates heat. basically, if a 240lb lean guy tried to run a marathon he'd probably keel over and die.

on the other hand a sprinter needs to be strong and powerful but light to go fast so the body gets rid of stuff like fat because it will just slow him down.

simplistic i know but i'm trying to abbreviate it.

humans being humans, we try and micro manage our bodies ie "i need to lose some fat. ok i'll do some cardio." or "i need some muscle, i'll do some weights." we underestimate our bodies and the fact that the body WILL DO what it thinks is best for survival.

the problem with recreational bbers is that they are constantly giving the body conflicting messages ie want massive muscle one minute and then, oh shit i've got a wedding coming up, got to drop weight, boom lsd cardio and the body's like wtf and tries to keep up, all the while trying to maintain homeostasis.

the homeostasis bit btw is important (ok, i'm really trying now to not get too in depth. got shit to do) because the body couldn't give a flying fuck about that wedding, contest, girl or beach, all it wants to do is maintain equilibrium so it can fulfill the tasks it NEEDS to survive.

anyway, i'm leaving it there. as i said, look it up for yourself. probably worth doing the research if you absolutely want to get in the best shape you can. ;)

heartrate of 130 BPM is perfectly fine when
A: you're not doing it for long amounts of time, 20-30 mins is nice
B: you have fat to burn

why not longer then 30 minutes???

but you cant categorize everyone in the same BPM, ive developed a good stamina for the last month, and my BPM is now less then it used to be in the beginning. I have to adapt to the new BPM and keep the excersize harder or longer, just like lifting weights, you need to move up.

cool thanks.

well in short: wat sort of cardio do u recomend? the length per session and amount of sessions per week?

depends on what your specific goals are, your current level of fitness/condition, weight, how much muscle you have, how much body fat you have to lose, what type of cardio, etc, etc, etc.

there are so many variables, but i would definitely consider interval training and sprints about 2-3 times per week. actually, i would question the need to do lsd at all, unless you're really unfit/fat, or you take enough anabolics that muscle retention isn't really a concern ie the priority being to lose fat very quickly for competition, but even in that scenario too much cardio will leave you flat. stress hormones like cortisol get released and the body starts shutting down. i told you the body will find a way to maintain homeostasis and this is exactly why it does this. same reason why hormone receptors shut down. why people don't learn to work with there body amazes me.

consider a marathon runner and a sprinter. both need to be as light as possible, but the marathon runner will have a higher body fat percentage than the sprinter, who is much leaner with much more muscle tissue. yet the marathon runner does a SHIT LOAD more lsd cardio. in fact properly trained sprinters don't do ANY lsd cardio.

is it diet? well both groups eat a ton, but have you ever seen a top level sprinter eat? they're like fucking gremlins. they eat MORE than the marathon runner.

oops, there goes the myth that you can micro manage the amount and type of calories you burn.
