McMahon's WBF didnt work because they made a sideshow out of it....right idea, wrong application.

mcmahon was under a lot of political pressure at the time and he reacted to it too quickly and too severely ie he acted without using his proper judgement and knowledge.
as chick said, it was a sideshow with lousy direction/script, etc.
add to that most of the guys looked terrible. i mean really bad, worse than any top level comp i've ever seen live or on vid.
they were forced to immediately come off gear and most of them complied (unfortunately). no pct, nothing. i get the feeling a few were enjoying the wbf party circuit a little too much also eg mike quinn who was just plain fat, not smooth - FAT.
needless to say, it was a disaster.
vince most definitely had the right idea though, it was just shitty luck that circumstances seemed to rather
suspiciously conspire against him right at that time.
of course pro bbing relies a lot on supplement companies and with the wwf, that was already on shaky ground (many were under a lot of pressure to stay with weider), but after that contest they were gone and vince, not being a complete idiot, pulled the plug in quick succession.
