Homeostatis
« on: July 19, 2007, 02:35:02 AM »
*edit: Homeostatis should be homeostasis of course*

Just like many of our behavioural patterns, our body borders on the autistic; it likes regularity.
all processes gravitate around a genetically dictated equilibrium, which can be altered to a certain degree.

The point I'm trying to make is that you should have a diet without pig-out days, and why you shouldn't bulk and then try to loose it all.
in the case of eating clean, give yourself one or two not so healthy food items a day, instead of eating clean the whole week. This will help get rid of the big craves that lead to the big pig-out day which will run your homeostasis into the ground. The whole week you've been serving your body good food and on sunday you give the opposite signal by eating junk. The body needs time to react and find reach a balance and the next day you eat clean again, again forcing the body to change; not good.

the same principle applies to bulking, besides the fact that it's harder to loose fat time and time again, fatcells can and will multiple, so each time the body will store fat more easily.

I'm sorry...I failed to make the connection between homeostasis and bulking  ???
