There are many people that can become teachers, or firefighters, or police officers.  The amount that can become a TOP LEVEL athlete is a handpicked select few on this earth.

Look how important water is to us, and the price we pay for it ($2 per bottle) versus a diamond which serves no utility in survival ($$$$$$).
