anyone ever bought a car through a police auction? If so is it a good or bad thing?

If you're in a metro area chances are the local cabbies will bid them up more then you'd be willing to pay. That's at least what I found.

depends on who owned the car previously. If you're talking about a police auction of an old squad car,
that's one thing. If you're talking about a police auction of a car seized from a drug dealer, that's another.

I wouldn't want to be the one who buys the $100,000 ferrarri for $5K, ...especially if the previous owner was a drug dealer who still had the VIN number and comes a calling wanting his car back.  :-\

Nah, see i all i am looking for is like a 00" jetta and up.....nothing great just some car to get back and forth to Tampa and back
