I bet he has everyone in his gym telling him he's "ready" and the dim lighting in the gym mirrors makes him look like he has "cuts" so he enters the shows and wonders why he places last. Probably puts it down to a few "bad callouts" or "bias" towards local competitors and enters year after year after year.
